Schwalbe Marathon Plus: the king of commuters and tourers?

I picked this Specialized Rockhopper up from a pawn shop for $70 yesterday. Was it a good buy? I'm hoping to use it for fitness and communiting.

These will be hard to fit, but great once they're on.

Hi all.  
Lets get down to the point, I'm fat as. to be specific, I'm currently 147kg (324lbs).  
I ride an early 2000's Apollo Summit with 26" (2.125 max) wheels as a form of transport around my small rural town.  
In recent years, this old banger of a bike has been upgraded with a 1,000w electric rear hub motor,  with the battery mounted in the pannier rack above the rear wheel. and with the addition of BMX handlebars to allow me to sit upright when riding (bad back won't allow me to ride hunched over) All up, I'd say 90% of both my weight and the bikes weight is on the rear wheel which leads to an annoying problem.  


I only seem to get about 4 months on a new rear tyre before the sidewalls split where they meet the rim.  


But, at the same time I only buy the cheap "Vee Rubber" brand tyres from Big W here in Australia. - I don't need anything knobbly, as I don't ride off road.  


**Can anyone suggest a 26" x 2.125 tyre that are not super knobbly with STRONG sidewalls that will have less chance of tearing under extreme weight? (Can't go wider than 2.125, frame of bike won't allow it)**

Strongest 26" Tyres for a fat guy on a heavy bike?

So I just bought a newer road bike for going around town and it really needs new tires. I dont know much about bike tires but the roads where I live are pretty bad. What's a good tire that I don't have to worry about popping but also won't hurt my speed to bad?

Question about tires

I had no trouble mounting these tires and they fit perfectly.

Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres is the answer - never have a flat again - with a little (450g) weight penalty.

I feel like I get a flat every 2 weeks (probably an exaggeration). I need tubes that are going to hold up. I asked aventon about going tubeless and they said that it'd put too much weight on the motor. I do carry heavy things home maybe once a month. If I figure the weight of what I'm carrying home into weight of tubeless tires would that be legit or no? Or is there a superior brand of tubes that I'm not using?
I ride 11 miles a day, 6 days a week. Rural road so lots of dirt and gravel, paved road. No spokes are poking through. Aventon Level.

Heavy and tough. Not quite immune to punctures, but close.
