 While The Genius is a far cry from some of the burly enduro bikes on the market, Scott have definitely shifted the bikes focus towards rowdy terrain and slack and the wheelbase is quite long to giving it good stability in the rough and its speed. then on the clients, it just claws up everything. The tires have a big contact patch and when flicked to the hundred mill travel mode, the twin lock system doesn't compromise the traction like a traditional lockout would, giving you great small bump sensitivity. Are there any drawbacks? Well, we found that the port when its Bliss damper can't quite match the performance of the rear suspension

 Now, this bike is seriously refined and aside from the glowing performance when the terrain gets challenging, it is that level of refinement and attention to detail that impressed us the most. Small things like the way the twin lock and drop a post levers are integrated into the grip clamp, all the way. the chain guide is mounted to the suspension pivot. It's just really nicely done

 Notably, the suspension is now a proper four bar linkage with a pivot on the chainstay, which is great for suspension performance. Overall, what's remained the same, well, the curve of the Genius's all-rounder abilities has always been in a suspension adaptability and that hasn't changed at all. The twin lock system which lets you reduce the rear will travel from 150 millimetres to to 100 millimetres at the push of a lever. The downside of course is the extra clutter and the annoyance of cables, but at least got provide you with some plastic wrap now to help tame the noodle bowl

 You just gotta make sure you set your sag and everything correctly. My sag is near perfect on the front and on the rear. So yeah, I mean I love this Scott bike. It has gotten me over tons of obstacles

 I got this 2020 Scott Genius 920 about three months ago and I've already ridden over 300 miles, 50 000 feet of elevation. Cane We did a road trip to Utah, we did a road trip to Idaho and I just like to get out and ride and I used to have a Santa Cruz Blur Lt Carbon sold that pick this up. so this will just be an overview of my thoughts and kind of a review of the bike after three months of ownership and putting a lot of miles on it. Like I said, I'm not a huge spec guy, but it is a carbon frame

 so if you flip this switch it goes more to the progressive and you flip it to the left. It's more linear so say you're hitting jumps, you can do more progressive so you don't bottom out the rear shock whereas if you're riding trails and all that, you want it a little more linear and there's a little red lever that you can adjust your rebound on as well. It has Slx brakes, the Sram cassette and everything so it's got the Eagle. One thing I did upgrade that should be here in due time is I got the Idra I9 hubs and opted for the 30 instead of the 28

2020 Scott Genius 920 Overview / Review

 I Think it's perfect for recovering XC holics I Kind of like some of the touches on there too. They've got the Synchros fender and there it comes with a couple things like that encourage pack less writing yeah, a pump integrated on the the bottle cage and a saddle bag with stuff equipment in it. and so it's kind of cool that they've they've done that with it. So the new genius comes in a lot of builds

We're actually riding the Nine Twenty and the Tune version as well which is a full carbon frame. This is the new Genius. It has a neutron you mounted shock

 yeah, really maneuverable. really kind of like great traction I think because of the wider tires in the corners. and however I was shocked that this bike had 150 millimeters of travel front and rear because it is very. it's kind of snappy and it's agile, but it didn't ride like one of the more like all-mountain kind of like massive descender bikes present ya know? Kind of felt like more on the cross country side of things even though it's a 150 bike

 yeah. and I think some of that high speed stability on the rough terrain like there's more. It's a pure raw gnarly trails. I think that that could come from the lack of ability to tune kind of a mid stroke in that suspension because when you have the yeah the the reduced travel setting off, you're in full travel
