last year I did my OWD certification and I am now at 12 dives. All of them in lakes in south Germany. Coldest temperature in the water was -11°C down at 18m.

I did a try diving in 2019 in Egypt but was not certified back then.

Soon I would like to buy my own gear. At the moment we are using Scubapro MK17s from our diving school. We are really happy with our diving instructor and he could do the maintainence of the gear and we could rent the cylinders from there as well and fill air if we go to dives around here. So that is why I would like to buy a Scubapro gear.

At the moment I am thinking what are the dives I want to do.

Of course I want to go to holiday, Egypt, Carribean or whatever once a year and do dives there.

Otherwise I live in Germany and it is only warm from June to September. Anyway, I would like to make the season a bit longer. Currently we are diving with 5mm neopren and ice west, but we plan to have a dry suit when winter is coming, so we are not freezing. Our diving instructor makes some trips to lakes in Germany (mountains) to dive there. They also did some trips to lakes were it is pretty cold when you are in 10-20m and we also want to do the AOWD so we can do dives to 30m or maybe one day to 40m with the deep diver speciality course. The problem is, lakes can become very cold and if they also make a dive in the winter (ice dive) I would like to be ready for it so if it is fun that I could go with them. Problem would be I buy a gear now and it is not ready for such dives and I have to buy a second time. So that my gear is ready for the ice dives, too. So I don't have to wait from September to June to make the next dive.

Is the MK25 Evo the right first stage for me? Is the G260 good for dives at very cold temperatures?

I already heard that I would need a second first stage to go in lakes which are colder.

Do I also need a second second stage and second octopus or how does this work? Or do I connect the G260 to one first stage and the octopus to the second first stage as my backup if the first first stage gets iced? (Of course we will ask our dive instructor how to install and what to do, but at the moment it is about what we would need to buy)

Do you think MK25 Evo (2x) is the right thing and G260 and the R195 is good for these kind of dives? Can I also use it in the warm sea on holiday when I go on a holiday once a year?

so I'm a pretty new diver and I'm currently looking to buy a regulator. In the end I came to those two. I will probably be taking it with me also on vacations, with the first one coming in 3 weeks.

I was reading a bit around and they both seem pretty great, with the S620ti being lighter and supposedly a bit easier breathing.

When I was checking the price for both bundles with 1st stage MK25, R195 octopus and a pressure gauge and a bag the A700 bundle was 700€, when the S620ti bundle was 750€.

Which one would you get and why?

Buying advice: Scubapro S620ti vs A700

I just bought an OTS Guardian and did my dive with the instructor this weekend and I never want to use a half mask again! I had absolutely zero problems with fogging (I've had terrible luck with fogging in my half mask) and it was just so enjoyable. 

The only downsides I could see is that communication at the surface was difficult (offset by the ability to add comms underwater) and the fact that you go through air quicker (because it's so damn easy to breathe in you forget your scuba diving!

Seriously, this thing is awesome and I can't wait to take it to Cozumel in Oct! Why don't I see more pics and videos with people using FFM? I get they're expensive but given the gear a lot of these people have I can't imagine that's the only reason they don't use one.
