 If you want to be able to set an electronic thermostat, this is not the unit for you. It heats to a boil and switches off. Lighted switch tells you it's on. It holds lots of water, and heats it fairly quickly

Decent all purpose hot water kettle - one safety issue

This kettle looks nice, especially for the price. The fact that it has a solid metal inner liner is great, we prefer the taste of tea using water boiled in a metal kettle versus a plastic one. The first time we used it I was impressed with how quiet it was. Not anymore

 According to the manual, it continues to boil for 20 seconds. When I counted, it ranged from 17 to 45 (just representative numbers, not necessarily precise). It would have been a big plus if it shuts down promptly when it reaches boiling point, like all the other kettles. This is the only reason I removed1 point from the rating
