Seiko SNKL23

I love my Seiko 5 SNKL23. It's completely a result of my initial deep dive into the world of watch videos on YouTube, and the Urban Gentry review of this model was the one to win me over. I've always considered white dials to be my thing, even before I really got into watches, but the pin-stripes intrigued me, I already have my white dial Paterson watch and I just adore the classic Seiko look with the applied baton indices and dauphine hands.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed wearing it, even after I returned from the trip. Seiko SNKL23: just received this guy in the mail a couple days ago.

Seiko 5 SNKL23. Seiko makes watches with superb value for money and the seiko 5 line held in very high regard on this sub when discussing this price range. All Seiko 5's have an automatic movement, so if you think your bf would like that, this line might be worth some more research.

2nd month into getting my first (automatic) watch, I've had quartz watches in the past in my teens but no real appreciation for them. Stumbled on a video from the urban gentry who managed to keep me watching his content for a few hours. Believe it or not, I had no idea watches had automatic movements or could be wound!. First watch I'd bought myself in December 19 was the seiko snkl23, which as many have advised have been their gateway watches.

And you are right, it looks a lot darker in reality than in the official product pictures you can find online. Well, in the bright sunlight or straight under your desklight it's a nice decent blue. But at a regular illuminated room, it's a very subtile dark blue (which I like). After getting my first "cheap" Seiko 5 SNKL23 automatic [some years (old deleted account) as a way to reduce screentime, I got really hooked on mechanical watches and decided to step up and buy my first swiss made automatic watch.
