I'd never heard of it but holy hell it rocked. By far the best sub $1k bass I've ever played.

 Didn't know much about the Marcus Miller Sire basses, but fell in love immediately. The guy at the store even said "I could tell you liked that one", because I was jamming on it for quite some time haha.

Was looking for something more trebly and melodic than my Precision. Went to the store, tried some basses. Didn't know much about the Marcus Miller Sire basses, but fell in love immediately. My flip comment on someone else's post the other day got me back to thinking about 5-strings, and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what the options are for a lefty?  I know Schecter makes them, but aren't they like not the best in terms of quality?  I'm willing to spend a little money to get a quality instrument, but I can also see the temptation to just drop 600 on the Schecter Omen 5.  I also saw the Stiletto Studio 5 which looks pretty nice online but I have no idea what the production quality is, and my local music store doesn't stock them so I could take a look at one.   Any advice here?

Consider a Sire Marcus Miller bass. Amazing value and playability. I’ve been ignoring my Dingwall a lot since picking up a V5 on a whim.

Looking for advice on gear

I've been thinking of getting a Jazz bass been eyeing online at the Sire Marcus Miller V5, some G&L and the Fender Player Series, today went to Guitar Center and they had two Fender, three Squier and  surprisingly one Sire V3, and I have to say the Fender quality control left me quite disappointed. Action was so high on both of them was almost unplayable, the finish on the chrome of the bridge looked pretty ugly and it just seemed really basic.

I just invested in a really affordable Marcus Miller V5 bass after years of playing a Mexican Jazz and although it's technically a Jazz copy on paper, it's opened up a whole new world for me.

So I got my first bass around 2 years ago, a Fender Mexican Jazz. I’ve learned a lot since, music theory wise and technique wise. But, I find myself yearning for new sounds and feel in a bass all together. I have pedals and they do wonders but what are your suggestions for a second bass?
