 Instead, you I saw about nine amps of draw in the back, so you don't need anything too fancy, but you get a lot more runtime out of your larger 26 650 batteries. In my graphs below here, you can see the difference between using 18 650 s and 26 650 batteries turbo, it would be, is kind of a letdown here cuz. It only lasts for about 3 minutes while decreasing an output. The light declines over 30 minutes to around 70 percent relative output, which isn't too bad when you're on that high output

This isn't your longest distance thrower, but it's a pretty wide beam

 Here, look at that usually making a cross spark. The other part they're. Just incredible and I'm filling the head here: it's not getting hot and here's a little warm, but not getting hot at all. Very impressive

Of course, for this type, hopefully they'll be coming out with a smooth reflector and that's going to give you a sharper cut off from the hot spot to the spill area really looks nice on this all right. Super bright but gets way to hot

 What i was explaining earlier on is really giving you very acceptable performance. Isn'T it from such a low output as we move up to medium and then high high mode of 3000 lumens, sorry about the wind, it's been doing that all bloody night excuse, my french and it's freezing cold as well. So that's 3000 lumens. As i work down the side of this lake, i mean have you ever seen: 3000 lumens

 Crucially, what i'm checking for is this little device over here that i'm connected to is measuring the power that this charger is pulling or requesting and at the moment zero. So the charger is detected that those batteries are full and it is no longer drawing any power. If i take one of them out put that battery in there turns red, i can see from my little device now it is drawing power, take the battery out, and now it isn't so very decent little charger that it comes which comes with, which is always a Bonus, let's have a quick look at our manual. If i can hold it steady there we go uh, the default mode is stepped and we've got eco low, medium and high 60 lumens

 Um lumens are a little bit of a lie, sometimes uh. What we need to know is the lumen output and how well and efficiently those lumens are being used so a light with a reflector like that is going to use, for example, 2000 lumens much better than a tiny little lens like that. And then perhaps your last consideration is your power source, and this light will run from two 26 650s which, if you've got the kit version it comes supplied with. Let me move the torch out of the way

 This is what i was referring to in terms of the how well the light will use uh such a low lumen output only on its um on its low motor, the one before, and it's cutting down that path great up one more to our medium, no problem At all straight down to the end of that path, hi, that's getting even more impressive, isn't it and then turbo, and because this light's using that sort of highest 3000 level, i think it was on its high mode. We'Re not seeing a massive jump over the turbo. Are we, let's back down to our high and scroll through again a really balanced, leaning on the throwy, tired lens? Isn'T it so i'll carry on and have a walk? Sorry for the wind, uh and i'll show you hi folks, i'm quite a bit further on now, with the sp70 i'll skip this eco mode, i'm on the low mode, those two trees there - that are 100 meters, and i won't know whether the wind ruined my earlier Footage, i think, i'm out of it a little bit at the moment, so apologize. If i repeat um, you can see how the you know the lens

**Sofirn Q8 Pro** for floody, **Sofirn SP70** in between and **Convoy L7** for higher longer distance performance. (I don't think the L7 would be useless at shorter ranges tbh, just not so floody for it).

There are plenty more lights out there at this price range but in my opinion these three represent the most bang for your buck i guess.

My dad just purchased a 100 acre ranch and I want to get him a good flashlight for xmas. Hoping that someone can point me in the right direction as I know nothing about high end flashlights.

Best flashlight for a farmer?

  The flashlight weighs in at 1 pound, 14.6 ounces which does not make it a very good candidate for a daily carry flashlight but it makes up for that in power output. This light can easily keep up with "throwers" three times the price with an awesome spot-to-spill ratio. There is a bit of a color shift from the XHP 70

 Thanks Amazon ;0)  As for my second flashlight I am quite pleased. It is very well built with a super-tough hard-anodized body. The knurled grip is very attractive and functional with a rear "grip-stop" that prevents the flashlight from slipping out of your hand. The grip stop also helps prevent the flashlight from rolling when laying on it's side

  The main function switch on the side has a translucent silicone cap over the switch which could in theory be a weak link in the flashlights durability. There is a replacement cap included in the box which makes me think that Sofirn though the same thing however no instructions or web-support (that I could find) showing how to service this switch cap. Great Flashlight - Second Go-Around

My father recently purchased a large retirement property and I want to get him a decent flashlight for Christmas, as he still uses the same old maglight he's had for a million years, and it doesn't pass muster, but I had no idea how overwhelming the market would be and I'm wondering if I'm overthinking it for his needs.  
I'm looking for a reliable, jack-of-all-trades, farm flashlight; I basically want this to be the last flashlight dad ever needs. 
Doesn't need to be bulletproof but will definitely need to be relatively rugged; waterproof is a must (it rains like hell here).  
Size is not really an issue, as long as it's not unwieldy; anything equal to or smaller than a bat sized maglight is just fine.  
In terms of batteries I'm open to suggestions, but i think the ideal would be a nice, standard, rechargeable that could just be plugged in when not in use, and it's likely to never leave the property so I don't think colossal battery life will be a huge issue, as long as it could reasonably be left on for a few hours (unless this does count as colossal).  
Doesn't need to be blindingly bright, something with a nice wide beam would probably be good, as it's slightly more likely to be used as a temporary floodlight as it is a spotlight, so would be happy with a middle-ground.  
In terms of switches I'm not super fussed, a big ol' button is fine, but whatever's good.  
One thing that I am worried about is heat, I've seen some posts of people burning stuff with (frankly) very small torches and I worry about starting fires, as it's likely to be turned on and set down to illuminate a rural space for an extended period and the Australian bush burns really readily.  
My budget is about $100usd for the torch and any , but i could stretch further if this would be inadequate for my needs.  
Some of the Sorfins look good for the price but please let me know if you have any suggestions or if i could clarify anything.
