A bit of an odd one here. The SOG Baton Q4 comes in a very luxurious case that contains 12 bits, and everything closes with magnets. The real claim to fame here however is the 2 way ratchet mechanism occupying the dark handle side. Not many multi-tools feature a ratchet

 definitely is a sog quality product for durability overall...  however, those good points noted, here's what i disliked, found annoying, or was downright disappointed with - not sure if this is was just mine but handle tools were incredibly difficult to pull out

 the pen blade in particular really needed to be pulled hard to the point where i felt i might break a nail in the process. the unlock button for tools deploys them all at once (or at least you must pull all out in order to get to whichever tool you need) and that i found annoying and unnecessary. the bit side buttons (it seems there are two) on other end were.

 i feel like i could use this as a backup hammer in a pinch and, as per usual, sog quality hardness. the carrying case with magnetic closure and extra bit holder was a nice touch although i wish that also had a clip or other carrying means on it. the tools and bits included are practical and nothing overly superfluous. the pliers have a good consistency and spring action to them with a surprising ease of opening and closing

(Meta) What’s your most useful EDC item? Not your favorite, or “if-you-could-only-choose-one” but the single item you find yourself reaching for the most, on a daily basis.

I'm a sucker for this gimmicky stuff so I had to purchase. If you're looking to have an over priced bit driver, this is super cool. If you plan on using the pliers for anything larger than a quarter or half an inch, it's very disappointing because the plier handles slide up to the base of the jaws and takes away any leverage you might have. I found it super useful a couple times, but given that the knife and swing out tools were hard to retrieve and of garbage size, I had to return

Cool Idea - Questionable Utility

Innovative good product with a frustrating design flaw with the pliers

Used on a everyday basis. One flaw.

 I cannot use the Q1 as scissors, therefore this product is worthless.  A note to the SOG engineers; if you made the scissor handles lock, I would have given it a much better review and would have kept them. As it is now, it's a dud.

 - The screw driver end works as it should, kinda smaller than I thought. I would have been happier it they would have put the flash light at the other end and not had a screw driver bottle opener. Just cause I would use a flash light much much more than the bottle opener.

 Sad. - The scissors, they are sharp, however the do not rub up against one another well. An example is I used them, scratch that, attempted to use them to open a freezey pop. The plastic on a child's Popsicle beat these scissors

SOG Q4 Multitool with Hex Driver set is a solidly built multi-tool with some unique features that impressed me. The unique way the SOG tool pulls apart to expose the pliers made deploying and stowing them a rather easy task. I found the pliers strong enough to easily hold and loosen all but the tightest nuts that ultimately required a socket to loosen. I also cut 14-gauge wire with no problem

 Another nice feature I found was the ability to unfold and lock or fold and lock the knife with the push of a button on a spring lever. (My fingernails are saved trying to dig for the little tab.) On the other handle, there is a combination slotted/Philips’s bit that fits into a ratcheting bit holder. All of the supplied bits Very nice While there are good things about this tool, there are also some shortcomings concerning SOG Q4about the multi-tool, especially as it touts itself as an Every-Day-Carry (EDC) tool

Right out of the box the knife showed some wear on the blade resembling something that had seen a lot of use. There was also a small scratch on the outside of the unit • Tools aren't easily accessed with one hand  Also owning a Leatherman Skeletool, I wasn't sure if it was going to grow on me, but after carrying the Baton Q2 around for a couple of days I'm really starting to warm up to it. Overall, I think the Baton Q2 is a decent multitool

A couple essentials and a great flashlight

  I thought the bottle opener / screwdriver would be superfluous, since I carry a Swiss Army knife already, but the length and slimness of the pen is really handy for a multitude of angles that would really limit the utility of the Swiss Army knife. It's also quicker to whip it out of my back pocket to open a bottle than to dig my SAK out of my front pocket.  The pen is excellent, both in its feel and its writing. If I had one recommendation to make to SOG, it would be to make the hard plastic where the pen tip comes out, metal

 The very sharp scissors are a useful addendum to my pocket knife blades... for some tasks scissors are just better
