 Another top feature that you're going to get with a z90 sound bar is going to be a center channel, there's nothing more annoying than when you're watching a movie, and the background noise on that movie is so loud that you can't hear the voices. That'S where having a center channel is so important because it's dedicated giving you really clear vocals. Last but not least, if you've watched any of our previous videos, then you've likely heard us talk about e-arc erc stands for enhanced audio return channel and is something that the z9f soundbar definitely supports. Before I continue, we pause for a word from the Credit Where Credit Is Due Department: A user by the name of Kokkikaks in the Sony A8H owners' thread over on AVSForums is the first person I have seen recommend this specific solution for this specific problem. I'm sure others have implemented this themselves before this person did, but this person is the earliest reference I can see to someone actually specifically stating, "Hey..to fix this problem you need to do this and all will be well"

Will this work for you? Hard to say. You'll have to try it in your scenario and see if you have favorable results. I can tell you it does work for me with my X950G connected to an HT-Z9F and it does work for the users over on AVSForums who have tried it.

1. Go into your TV's settings and turn off everything WiFi-related. That includes the WiFi radios, the WiFi-related location services, WiFi-Direct, etc. Everything

 In other words, I have set everything to what I believe should be sane settings for my usage and there has not been a single audio blip, drop-out, or faltering since I moved to hard-wired Ethernet. No needing to follow weird guides found in dark corners of the internet. No arcane voodoo rituals. No needing to stand on one foot while using the remote

so far nothing has come along to fix it. Small items, but aggravating as heck.  Would I recommend? NO. Should have purchased another one of the older soundbars with just two oval speakers and been happier

 However, this soundbar, which I will say does sound ok, has some bugs. Sometimes it will start up and should be under HDMI 1; however, it jumps into the TV mode. When this happens I can just press HDMI on the dish remote and all is well. Sometimes it starts up in Muting

 We also need some volume and okay, I'm definitely losing this, but we just want to play for the audio quality and there we go [, Music ]. So guys, as you can see, if you play, for instance, you can kind of switch now. It goes directly to the sound bar, then it gets to the 4k OLED TV, it's getting upscale and, as you can see either I don't feel actually any lag, even though the Ola TV has 35 to 45 milliseconds and there's the sound bar in between. But to me it feels really good nice to play and I have absolutely no problems

 The sound bar itself comes in only one color and fits exactly on an Ikea TV table or between the stand of the XF 90s Sony TV, which we have also tested. The new sound pack comes with two HDMI IN for your console, tuner or blu-ray player and directly streams. The picture to your TV eve of zero lag additional to that there's also a USB port analog, stereo 3.5 milimeter minute check input and an optical digital audio input

 This plate also gives you some information about the current mode and can display the volume as well. I actually never thought that a sound bar with front-facing drivers and the wireless approver really delivers something like immersive and Dolby Atmos, but surprisingly, it kind of does and it does it virtually now. The sound bar itself comes in only one color and fits exactly on an Ikea TV table or between the stand of the XF 90s Sony TV, which we have also tested. The new sound pack comes with two HDMI IN for your console, tuner or blu-ray player and directly streams

 So the sap move itself goes really nice and deep and is really powerful for sure. Doesn'T equalize built-in and you can manually control the Subura. But, to be honest, I didn't expect such a strong bass out of such a tiny box and the best thing all you have to connect is the power and then you're ready to go now. There'S no effort, but most Sony audio devices can be controlled via the Music Center app, and so is the HD set of 9

Sony HT-ZF9 - Dolby Atmos Soundbar 2018 - Full Review

- The 800 has a much fuller sound. The dialog is clear but easy to hear at low levels. Bass is solid, can get loud but sounds very smooth at low levels. Sub is twice as big as the Z9F

- The soundbar is almost as long as my 65" TV. Probably would look too big on anything smaller than 65".

I've had the Sony Z9F for about 7 months paired with my Bravia 900E. It has been a pretty good soundbar. But I've had consistent issues with my wifi affecting my rear speakers and sub. I had an opportunity to switch to a Klipsch Cinema 800 and here's the differences I have noticed between the two:

 Due to the poor vocal presentation under virtual mode I returned as I am paying this bar for the virtual engine.

 In term of regular non-atmos it sounded pretty good and this bar can play "loud" with just those small speakers. With virtual effect the bar was ok since i wasn't expecting much with just 3 tiny speakers. There was no sound from directly above but I did sense some effect high up in front of me. But with vocal the virtual engine made the voice unnatural, almost sounded "hollow"

 1) small and slim size 2) Has option surround speakers 3) Atmos that does not require sound to bounce around. Right off the bat i loved the look of this soundbar, very slim and fitted perfectly under my OLED TV. Setup was easy and connected via ARC HDMI with no issue. Also this bar can play "loud" even with just those small speakers

 Is that Sony put an IR repeater at the rear of the, so you can have the soundbar send ir signals to control the TV, even if it's placed in front of the TV and blocking the TV zone ir sensor like now, this setup costs $ 900 and It'S supposed to give you comparable audio, like a 7.1 system just like that, but there are also two optional rear speakers that cost an extra $ 300 now sound bars, don't generally have a good reputation when it comes to setting them up, they can be overly complicated. Absolutely this one, though, is the opposite of that. I plugged in the main bar into the power outlet plugged in my HDMI cable from the AR C enabled HDMI output and into the AR C enabled HDMI input on my TV, then I plugged in the subwoofer and the two other speakers turn them all on push

 So these are the hook, audio verse and they are a binaural 3d audio headphone that are also capable of recording sound like that as well. So the idea here is, I'm gon na put them on move my head around and they will record the audio as my ears hear it in kind of a 3d way. Then using the software they channel it down the stereo so that you guys should be able to hear it through your stereo, capable phone or computer speakers, and if you have some headphones put. Those on and you'll hear the effect even more [ Music ] [ Applause

 ] [ Music, ], [ Applause, ], [, Music, ]. Now I'm not an audiophile by any means, but I know when something impresses me: this soundbar definitely gives you an upgrade to your normal TV, audio experience and then also with all that connectivity. You can play music on it from Spotify from your phone and controller with Alexa, etc, when compared to a proper 7.1

What they mean by that is that, even though it only has three speakers in the front of it not including the optional satellite speakers, it uses some clever software to project sound vertically behind you and above you, something 5

 LDAC is a bluetooth format Sony created that delivers much higher bandwidth than AAC format on G700 which gets further helped by the upscaler. So it's more closer to an audiophile quality listening experience.  I'd argue this with the Z9R rears make it considerably more immersive music soundbar.

3. Visual menu with WiFi connectivity with Google/Alexa support which also means you can update it easier from wifi & it's easier to change settings than just using the LED screen on the front of G700. G700 requires you to manually go on Sony website, download firmware & plug in a properly formatted usb for an update.

Hi-Res Audio upscaler with LDAC bluetooth support: Lower res sound can be upscaled to higher-res for more clarity like with compressed streaming services like spotify, apple music, etc. LDAC is a bluetooth format Sony created that delivers much higher bandwidth than AAC format on G700 which gets further helped by the upscaler. So it's more closer to an audiophile quality listening experience

Now that I have a PS5, I finally have a means of playing content with high quality audio. 

I'm looking at these two Soundbars, both have Dolby Atmos  and DTS X support achieved via virtual surround sound. Add I'm in a small room and have to sit closer to my setup, I figure that was probably the best choice. 

The ZF9, while older, still fetches a higher price tag though had more connectivity options. The G700, could save me a fair bit of money, even with thei HDMI switch I'd need to buy (as this bar only has one input). 

Does anyone have experience with these two Soundbars and how they compare in sound quality? Thanks!

Soundbars: Sony HT-G700 Vs HT-ZF9

Slightly disappointed after reading countless reviews and videos. The sound could be better out of this unit for the price. Easy set up but didn’t play nice when going from hdmi to optical and didn’t auto turn on with the tv anymore. Replaced with the Bose 700, which I never really like Bose in general and prefer Sony for headphones but in this case, Bose wins even though it’s more $$$

Not as impressed as I was hoping for

 It also seems to be more effective in some rooms than others, which can be said for the virtual surround in general. Still Sony's DSP is impressive and you'll be amazed with this little bar and subwoofer can do to enhance effects dialog and even little details and nuances. In your favorite shows and movies, the z9f also holds its own when it comes to music, offering balanced sound for such a small bar with punchy bass, clear treble and a rich smooth mid-range at eight hundred nine hundred dollars. The HT z9f is relatively pricey and it definitely will not be a good substitute for a full board Dolby Atmos system

 But if you're looking for a small system with big, clear and dimensional sound, the HTC, a 9 F is definitely worth checking out. Hey thanks for watching and if you like what you saw.
