 This fits a little looser than other spyder jackets as well... I recommend ordering the size shirt you wear vs going up l

This is a VERY warm jacket. I talked to customer service and this is probably their second warmest jacket the sell..

Performs

 All of the seams are critically taped which is a really great feature. It has YKK zippers that are also waterproof and under the arms you have the ventilation. If I open up the jacket to show you guys the interior, it comes equipped with a bronze chassis and that's a way for the heat to circulate through the jacket. With the 20 grams of insulation, this jacket is going to get really warm

Just Too Bulky

 The one fit issue for me is that the jacket is designed for much wider hips than I have, so it's a bit gappy from the waist down, which means cold air can get in. I usually wear a backpack so the waist straps kept the jacket cinched, but I might look into having the jacket altered for a closer fit in the waist and hips. I used the hood over a helmet on lift rides and on some very cold days, and because my helmet is somewhat bulky, I couldn't easily turn my head, but it definitely kept me warm. I didn't have the opportunity to use the pit vents but am sure they will help a lot on warmer days

 I decided to try this synthetic alternative to down. After recently skiing 5 days in the Colorado Rockies, during a week of extremely cold temps (highs in the teens with wind chills of negative F degrees) and windy blizzard conditions, this jacket proved its worth! Granted, I also wore a couple of wool base layers and a Smartwool midlayer.
