I've been riding a Tallboy 4 for a couple seasons now and, while I absolutely love it, the only thing I have been a bit disappointed by is the power of the SRAM Guide T brakes. They have always just seemed kind of...meh. I have recently been considering an upgrade.



At the low-mid price range, my local shop has the SRAM G2R and Code R in stock. For a bit more, they have the Shimano Deore XT M8120, and then they have the SRAM G2 Ultimate Carbon at double the price of the G2R. I'm still rocking the shitty NX Eagle groupset, so not sure if that affects what brakes I can use. Have to love Santa Cruz and their wonderfully spec'd bikes at the lower price range haha. 



Any opinions? Is there anything I can do to improve my current situation or do I just need to bite the bullet and buy new brakes? 



If it helps, I'm 6'1" and probably about 215-220 kitted up with 2L of water in my pack. My local trails are pretty mellow but I tend to ride aggressively and sometimes faster than I should, hence my issue with the brakes...
