 Then turn the light off, see how dark it is and then close this eye and open the one that was closing the light was on. You will instantaneously see the difference in your night vision capability just naturally to your eye because there's a really good amount of light, dim light adjustment in your eye. Now, when you start punching out with a light like this, especially in a room that's wider, you get some glare back, you're going to diminish your natural night vision capability slightly, but not to the point where you still can't get everything done that you need to get done.  Now someone inevitably always brings up how much is too much, how bright is too bright. Well that really depends on what you are doing. If you need that thing on a rifle and you need to punch out a quite a distance, something like that 56 candela flamethrower for mod light might be your ticket. Something in that thousand lumen rating or even maybe a little bit more inside a normal house, a normal warehouse, even left field out there is going to be a really good mix

One of the things you need to understand is too, is if you're going from a dark room, we are using this light and then go into like a dim hallway and then back into a dark room, you are going to have some diminishment of your natural night vision. An example of that is just go into a room with one eye closed with the light on and just kind of sit in that room until your eye acclimates to it

 So you can just flood an area with light. Streamlight's a brand that I had carried for an extremely long time, specifically here on my rifle. Now this light's been on here for a few years. It's got thousands of rounds through it

Gun Talk Tuesday 10-18-2022

 The reflector patern is so well done that honestly for indoor use in my tiny home (short distances) I can just use the center focal spot without even turning on the laser. Side by side with my Fenix PD35 - also 1k lumen, there's just no comparison in the actual candelas this applies at distance. Do I need to worry about blinding myself ? It's ok bro, I'm not stupid. I know where things like white walls and mirrors are in my house, and I know how to do things like not shine bright lights into them

 Should really be clear about that on the Amazon listing; when I opened the switch it definitely fit the battery cap perfectly, but would only control the white light, not the laser. I guess the laser really needs all the energy and that bit of added circuitry is just enough added resistance to underpower it ? I guess ? The contour switch was dropped off at Whole Foods for a super easy fast return process :)  - The laser will go out before the white light does. If you get a nice bright light but your laser is dim or flashing or gone, try new batteries.  All in all I have to say that honestly I LOVE this light and laser combo, but I'm super bummed about the lack of holster availability

  - The white light is likewise extremely bright and very tightly focused, with a very nice super bright white spot surrounded by a dimmer flood. In my bedroom with all the lights on it's *radically* brighter if I throw this at the ceiling. The reflector patern is so well done that honestly for indoor use in my tiny home (short distances) I can just use the center focal spot without even turning on the laser.   - Bit of added weight at the muzzle never hurts :)  - Lens absolutely gets gassed up, but wipes clean to crystal clean again with a micofiber.  - I find the old style switches to work very well for me; my support thumb is right there, and I can manipulate it very adroitly without losing any of my support grip.  - Absolutely get a quicker picture than with steel sights. People who only use steel sights will say junk like "lasers aren't necessary", "red dots aren't any faster than steel", "those are for people who can't use steel"

O-light gets laughed off r/flashlight but is on the front page here every day, what gives?

 Work the eraser in a circular motion while applying light pressure. This will take care of any carbon that's caked to the lens and won't scratch the lens. Then either purchase yourself a cap for range use or do the lip balm technique. Hope this helps!

What they fail to mention is that after 30 minutes the brightness will significantly start to drop off to a point where at the 40-50 minute mark it's at its last practical brightness and needs new batteries. I've went through 2 sets of batteries now due to training with the light but now that I'm comfortable and confident with the light I ni longer should need to turn the light on except for emergency type situations

It may sound silly but before you even fire a shot while this light is mounted, be sure to apply a decent coat of lip balm to the lens. Make sure to get it over the entire circumference of the glass lens or else you're going to have a VERY rough time getting the carbon from gun fire off of the lense

 The label on the streamlight package says FDE, nowhere does it say brown but that’s what I got. So that’s on streamlight. The light itself is great. Very bright

this is a GREAT light, like the way it fits on the rail, easy on, easy off. Very bright and the switch mechanism is perfect. I recently changed out the 123A batteries with 16340 rechargeable type.
