I also recently tried Sugar Candy bralettes. They're wireless but actually have a lot of architectural support inside the cups, which are much deeper than other bralettes. They're not as comfy as Third Love or Davy Piper, but are much much more supportive because they have a heavy duty mesh "sling" that runs across the bottom of the breast and another that runs along the outer edge to keep from spilling out the side. They also have several models and you can pick the one closest to you to see how they fit

Alternatives to Lane Bryant or supportive bras without an underwire please.

This is hands down the most comfortable bra I have ever worn. I wear a 28hh in Curvy Kate and I bought size small, for reference. I love that the cups don’t start in my armpit! It’s very flattering - no bulging from being overly tight. Just love it!ll Wish it was less costly, but the quality is definitely there to make it worth it

Hello all! I’ve been a lurker here for awhile because I was almost confident I was wearing the wrong bra size. I’ve made the mistake of being a Victoria’s Secret customer for years and they had me in a 38D.

I finally sucked it up and bought a measuring tape because I have chronic pain issues specifically in my neck and shoulders, and after just a couple hours in my current bras the pain is so intense I spend the rest of the day holding back tears and devouring NSAIDS which are now causing medical issues.

Anyway, so I did the calculator, and it put me at a starting size of 38 G/H US, or 38 F/FF UK. My measurements are as follows: loose underbust 39 inches, snug underbust 37 inches, tight underbust 35 inches, standing bust 45 inches, leaning bust 46 inches, lying bust 44 inches.

I honestly have no clue about the shape part of this. My breasts with no bra on appear a bit wider set, but in my current bras they are pushed together. They are definitely at least somewhat projected but also not very saggy, they hang a bit but not a lot and look very full even when unsupported, and in my current bras they are super round but that could be a result of the bad fit I suppose. My doctor also told me I have very dense breast tissue if that is helpful at all. 

What I’m looking for: my number one priority is comfort. I’ve taken to wearing old sports bras recently because they are at least a little more comfortable, although they do not fit well or offer very much support. I do also want to feel pretty though. I’m a sucker for lace, straps, velvet, any sort of embellishment. Comfort is still my number 1 priority but some cute options would be nice as well. I primarily gravitate towards black undergarments but I also would like a gray or nude option in my rotation. Also open to maybe a wine/burgundy color or a mauve, maybe even something in a lilac/lavender color. 

Please help me. I’ve been suffering for years and my doctor says I need to stop taking NSAIDS or it could kill me, but I also can’t just go braless at work because it’s very noticeable when I’m not wearing a bra. I am open to any and all suggestions!

In desperate need of comfy bra recommendations

Second Sugar Candy bralettes. They give support through inner side slings that should ease pressure on your rib cage. You could even try going up one size with them to make sure the band isn’t too tight for you.

<div class="md">Hello lovely humans! I’ve really been struggling with bras recently. I’m hoping maybe someone here can help.

Short version, I have a connective tissue disorder called Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS). For me my spine is most heavily impacted — I have craniocervical instability or CCI that causes my vertebrae to slide bilaterally and press into my brain stem and spinal column causing dysfunction in my life. I live with 7 slipped discs and sublux or partially dislocate any of the following at least a few times a month: ribs, knees, hips, heels or thumbs. I am actively pursuing treatment through PT, bracing and procedures but for now this is my day to day reality. If I could I’d skip bras entirely, however with 30G or 32F size boobs (I have to size up on bands because of rib dislocations) this is uncomfortable and interferes with my ability to do PT.

I often wear a hard cervical collar and need to avoid anything pressing on my neck or the sides of my neck/ upper traps. Right now I’m wearing some cheap, size medium sports bra from puma with a wide band and adjustable shoulder width straps (they sit on the wide/ boney parts of my shoulders). This is an okay solution for keeping me covered and giving mild support at PT, but they’re hard to get off over my head without aggravating my neck, the adjustable feature is always slipping and they honestly don’t fit that well. 

A few years ago I saw a soft plunge style/ front cross closure bra recommended on here that I believe was sold through Etsy? I can’t find that old post to save my life but that’s what I’m thinking could work. I’ve tried a bunch of wireless bras and really struggle to find any that work for small band/ large cup sizes. While it is possible for me to carefully contort a bra over my head I really prefer a bra with a closure and due to thumb dislocations/ general pain. A front closure would be amazing, but I can always spin a back closure around so it’s not a dealbreaker. 

The best fitting bra I owned before wires became such an issue was the Natori cherry blossom bra in a size 32DDD. I wore Natori feathers bras for years previously, but found the cherry blossom to be smoother. 

Other sizing info - my breasts are fairly wide set, at rest I can put my fist flat on my sternum in between them. I think this is why I have gravitated towards plunge styling in the past. Also, 60%+ of my tissue is in the lower half. I’ll look up what that shape is called and update this post when I figure it out.

Finally, if you got this far THANK YOU. I know this is an odd request for size, shape and medical reasons. Truly any information would be helpful and very gratefully received. I may currently be disabled, but I do want to be able to feel comfortable/ put together on a day to day basis. To me, small dignities and comforts mean a lot 💛

[Recommendation] 30G/32F wire-free supportive bra, ideally with front closure — I have CCI and hEDS — tight/ underwire bras dislocate my ribs and pressure from racerback bras on my neck cause me to pass out.

This bra does not fit an HH cup as claimed. Elastic band on top of cup is uncomfortable and gives a "quad-boob" effect. I received the nursing bra style, which is not what I ordered.

Sizing is not accurate

 I would opt for an XL in Sugar Candy, and they do also go up to XXL in case you later need to order a larger size. For Royce Blossom, you will probably want to sister size to a 40 band (40E/F/FF - unless you think you are 2-3 cup sizes bigger already in which case 40G/GG/H might be preferable).

Finally found the right bra size, and now I'm pregnant!

 Also, if you live in the Denver, CO area their brick/mortar store is a fabulous place to visit, esp for nursing and specialty bras.

 I also want to commend the seller, Bosom Buddies. I was initially sent the wrong style bra--I had ordered just the regular wireless bra, but was sent a nursing style bra. I contacted the seller and they immediately responded and worked to get me the right bra style. They went above and beyond, and I would absolutely recommend them

Not quite the question you were asking, but I recommend trying out Sugar Candy bralettes if you're looking for something wireless but supportive. I love mine, it gives me the shaping of a wired bra but the comfort of a wireless one. Additionally, it's stretchy and meant to fit over a few sizes, so that might help a bit with tricky sizing.

I'm trying to determine my size, but there are a few complicating factors which are leaving me too unsure/indecisive to go ahead and order anything. 

The calculator says I'm likely a UK 38E/F, but I'm unsure how accurate this is due to the fact that my ribs are "deformed" due to scoliosis (even post surgery). One side of my rib cage protrudes out of my back where a bra band lays. A couple months ago (before I found this subreddit) I bought a cheap fruit of the loom unlined bra off amazon to even try to get an idea of what I need to look for, but the band doesn't even fit without an extender, the straps are too short, and the wire digs into my belly when I sit (with admittedly bad posture, but that's just how I sit) &amp; annoys the inside of my arm. This bra says it's size 36DD.

One last thing which has added to my hesitation to purchase any bra: I have sensory issues when it comes to clothing, so even a little discomfort is intolerable. For example, there's only one underwear cut I will wear and I'm extremely sensitive to seam placement on shirts (no thanks, drop shoulders!).
