And like I said, you know, I think there's lots of weight down in the bottom with the head, so even though this is a very strong loft, I'm still expecting probably for me to see that launch angle round about that 19 degrees. But I think what we will see is lots and lots of ball speed out of this 7 iron. And again, that felt very, very quick off the face

 So I think when you look at it behind the golf ball, you know, it looks like a very, very powerful 7 iron. Off we go though. So a solid one to start with, there's my little shapey one back, pitching nearly 170.  So 7 iron at 28 and a half degrees, so again very, very strong in loft, expecting this to be very, very powerful, and a good looking club, little bit more technology in it than M4, but as ever, let's see how it performs. Right then guys, so we have got a horrendous day down at Living Golf Academy, so I've retreated to the studio at St Anne's Old Links. So we've had a close up look at the M6 head. For me, like I said, a little bit more technology in there to make it a bit more forgiving, even though a little less visual tech, which I don't necessarily think is the worst thing that you can't now see the slots on the face

 I found it to be slightly higher than a lot of the other clubs, but not too high. I was hitting the ball just about 90 feet in the air with the new M6 irons, which is on the higher side, but it's not excessive. With that deep low center of gravity that was producing that nice high launch angle, TaylorMade can come in and make the lofts a little bit stronger and hitting a club where the face is perpendicular more to the path is going to create a higher efficiency of ball speed off the face. So the weighting that goes into the new M6 irons that allows for TaylorMade to get that nice high launch has to do with several parts of the club

 Stock shafts on the new M6 irons are the Fujikura Atmos in graphite and the KBS Max 85 in steel. Standard grip on the TaylorMade M6 irons is the TaylorMade Lampkin real feel rubber grip. What I really like about this grip is that TaylorMade has used a reminder in the back of the club and that's basically just a speed bump that goes across the back from the butt of the club to the end of the grip. You can feel that little bump in one of your two hands and if you can position the club in the same exact rotation in your hands every single time then that's just going to help you have more consistent face angles at impact

 With that deep low center of gravity that was producing that nice high launch angle, TaylorMade can come in and make the lofts a little bit stronger and hitting a club where the face is perpendicular more to the path is going to create a higher efficiency of ball speed off the face. So the weighting that goes into the new M6 irons that allows for TaylorMade to get that nice high launch has to do with several parts of the club. So one of the attributes that saved TaylorMade weight enabling to reposition that center of gravity deep and low to give me that nice high launch was the use of their 360 fluted hosel here. So where they can, they have noticeably thinned the thickness of the metal that's in the hosel that goes around the shaft and you can see that that's probably a very substantial weight saving that they're able to reposition in the back of the club, again to get that center of gravity low and back to give you that nice high launch

 What I really like about this grip is that TaylorMade has used a reminder in the back of the club and that's basically just a speed bump that goes across the back from the butt of the club to the end of the grip. You can feel that little bump in one of your two hands and if you can position the club in the same exact rotation in your hands every single time then that's just going to help you have more consistent face angles at impact. So anything we can do to dial that face angle in at impact for more consistency, I'm a big fan of the use of the reminder grip. So this is a great new product from TaylorMade
