I am 8 handicap and got fitted for these clubs on the recommendation of my teacher. The clubs themselves look nice and the grip feels good but they are brutal if you dont hit it in the sweet spot. I am coming from Callaway Rogue X which were excellent in forgiveness. Sometimes i hit the ball thin and towards the toe

 Hmm I've a fatted one, I've thinned one. I'm properly testing these clubs there. Okay so that's my warm-up hole out the way. I've now come to a quiet seat because I really want to test these long irons certainly the four and five iron

 I'm gonna use this set as almost a brand new set. So the first thing I need to look for is the long irons. I want to know how easy they are to hit, are they forgiving, do they go a long way and then we're going to move into the more lofty clubs. Now there's one concern I have about the lofty clubs and we'll test that in this video because that's going to be a real critical point to whether these are the best irons in the world or not

 That doesn't continue as you can see through eight, nine and pitching wedge. Okay the first place I'm going to start with this test is actually I'm gonna pretend I've never tested P790s before. I'm gonna use this set as almost a brand new set. So the first thing I need to look for is the long irons

 Okay let's start for this little path through up the hill. I'm gonna hit six iron looks wise behind the ball yeah just just clean nice not super thin top line at all. A little bit of protection, a little bit of forgiveness, almost confident boosting. All right let's start off see if we can hit a good one to kick things off

 You don't want those inconsistencies. So let's hit a few into screen and see if we find anything or whether we can classify these as the best irons in the world. So I'm about 153 yards away from the flag and I'm gonna hit the nine iron. Now normally my standard nine iron I probably wouldn't quite hit it that far but these are stronger lofted the 40 degrees nine iron and just to give you a bit of a benchmark here's the lofts of these irons

Are these the BEST golf clubs ever made!? FULL REVIEW

 The contact feels good. Addressing the ball, setting the iron behind the ball looks and feels normal. Not like a blade iron. The top edge is not thick and is appealing to the eye

They look intimating, but do be fooled.

 When you actually look at the spec and this is quite sly from TaylorMade. Across the board the irons are 0.25 inches longer in shaft length. So the steel shaft now is the same length as the graphite shaft and that's a sneaky little ploy because if you're using a slightly longer shaft there's a likelihood you're going to be picking up club head speed

 The grips of these clubs are very strong and I would find it hard to believe that these could fly out of anyone's hands.

 I hit these irons at the full swing golf simulator, Silvermere Golf and Leisure, so get some launch monitor data, which I'll flash up on the screen now to give you kind of insight into how this club performed in a controlled environment with Titleist Pro and its golf balls. And you'll see, you know, the launch worth data from the old models to the new model would suggest across the board improvements, actually, with this new model. So from a similar club speed, getting significantly more ball speed, a higher launch angle, slightly lower spin, a slightly higher ball flight with that seven iron, and two yards extra carry distance, 172 to 174. So it's pretty long, with the seven iron lofted at 30

 I would say, see the shaft length that I've got here, you can see the P790 is actually marginally longer. So that might be contributing to a little bit more speed, a little bit more distance. But overall, I've been thoroughly impressed with what the new P790 has to offer. It's an excellent all-rounder with seemingly no weakness, I think, other than the extra thickness in the top line, which might put off the better player

 It has allowed TaylorMade to free up some weight and incorporate some heavier tungsten weighting. So it's interesting to see how that performed. THE IRON FOR EVERYONE?! TaylorMade P790 Iron Review

 The D2 swing weight feels great with my tempo and my yardage is about 1.5 clubs longer then my previous set. Definitely stronger loft but forged head and muscle back design helps every shot feel flushed. Low ball spin but I haven’t had any issues holding the greens

Strong lofts,  map your club carries!!

 Lighter speed foam air is what it's called this year. So, it is lighter than it was in the previous versions. What that does is helps put weight in different places in the head. There's also some tungsten in these heads that brings the center of gravity down that helps our players get it up in the air and hit more shots and more fairways

This is the previous version of the P790 from 2019. We're going to get you hit a few shots with this one so we can get a baseline and compare and contrast, okay? All right

 So the more that ball is going to get up in the air, the less those little thin shots are going to stay near the ground. So something to make mention of here is the set makeup. A set that is comprised of irons, the gapping is really tight for the lofts between each club. So the distances are going to be staggered

 The spin is a little bit different. So lowering the center of gravity here with the new tungsten, drop the spin for me. You know, it really comes down to how you hit the golf ball. So you need to head to your store, talk to your master fitter and they will get you dialed up for a set of clubs
