TCL Alto 8i

software is 9.4.0 build 4200-88. connected to TCL Alto soundbar via HDMI eARC. No matter what screensaver I choose (even ones newly downloaded) or what settings configuration I choose for the screensaver(s) I cannot successfully preview a screensaver and it will not successfully start at the appropriate time. In both cases the screen will turn black for just a second and then go back to whatever was previously showing, almost like the screensaver is failing to launch. Likewise, auto power settings do nothing.

The TCL Alto 8i is a 2.1 setup with dual subwoofers integrated into the bar, so you don't have to find room for a bulky sub in your living room. Despite its compact design, it's still a versatile soundbar, and it's one of the few bars in this price range with Dolby Atmos support

I've tried three different soundbars (TCL Alto 6+, TCL Alto 8i, and now Hisense HS218) and all of them cause lag on my Switch and PS4. I connected all of them via eARC with a brand new HDMI cable so I could control the volume with the Roku remote. Unfortunately when I use the Switch or PS4, there is a delay in when I use the control and when the TV responds.

It's a 2.1 setup, and it's one of the few options in this price range that we've tested with Dolby Atmos capabilities. Though it doesn't come with as many features as the more premium options on our list, it's still a solid pick compared to other models in this price range

I have the TCL Alto 8i TS8111 (virtual atmos) that I got for $100 usd (on sale from $150). I've been happy with it. Dialog is pretty clear at low volume which I was super happy about especially for a budget 2.1 all-in-one.

I've got a TCL Alto 8i ($150) hooked up to my Sony X900H via eArc and last gen Xbox One S. Probably one of the cheapest Atmos soundbars w/out a subwoofer you can buy. It's fine for my needs but I can't really tell if it's playing Atmos content even when watching Atmos enabled content on Netflix. My advice would be to get a decent sound system because the budget soundbars will disappoint on this function.
