Mixed impressions after 12 months of daily use

 The north face kind of came to this conclusion, like a lot of other brands. Have that gore-tex, which is traditionally used in waterproofing any product, is not breathable. It is not an enjoyable experience when you have a gore-tex jacket on and you start to perspire underneath it because it just doesn't breathe and worst off. Is that if you get the inside of it wet or you sweat, like you, do in a shoe, it takes days sometimes to dry those shoes out so enter future light, and what it really is is it's just a new technology that north face has come out With and essentially gives you a breathable, very pliable material uh that is waterproof now, when we say waterproof, keep in mind, there's a big hole here that water can get through

 I would not say that any shoe on the marketplace is totally waterproof unless you're wearing a rubber ducky boot. So let me just talk real quickly about these shoes uh. They are very, very flexible. They have the fast foam system in there uh

 We're testing out the North Face's Ultra Fast Pack 3 GTX hiking shoe right here. So, as you can tell, we've been doing a lot of testing with these guys and they are some pretty cool hiking shoes. I'm going to tell you about them, okay? So, the Fast Pack 3 is a lightweight hiking shoe. I would not call it a trail running shoe

 So they're looking for a good outdoor shoe to keep you fit in the elements as you see here. And you want comfort to keep you in your feet all day long and keep the protection from the elements. The FastPak Ultra 3 from North Base would be a good choice. MSRP is right at $150

 Relatively lightweight. I'll spec below on that detail right there. Again, they're a really good performing lightweight hiking shoe with vortex membrane right there. And as part of the progressor line up, and the progressor line up is tailored towards people who are out hiking and camping and backpacking and stuff

 These boots run LARGE. I have a least an inch and a half of space between the tip of the shoe and my foot. I've been looking forward to using them that when they came in I made the mistake to ignore that fact and tried to hike in them. It was manageable but I could benefit from at least a half size smaller

So just a heads up, be patient if it doesn't fit perfectly no matter how excited you are to use them and get a half size or full size smaller
