 In terms of consistency, I feel like this is a good substitute, now obviously in terms of how this works, because it's a lesser concentration, it's 10%, it might not work as quick as the Vitamin C but if you have very sensitive skin, this is good. So I'm going to put what azaleic acid is for and the benefits and you know who I think needs this. So if you have oily skin, acne prone skin, I think this is amazing for you if you have oily skin because it dries out on your face, as you can see my face isn't shiny as opposed to when I use the Vitamin C, my face is like shiny. This dries out on your skin so if you have oily skin and you react to Vitamin C or you're scared of the concentration of Vitamin C, this is a good substitute

 So I'm reviewing this product which is a good substitute for vitamin C and it's also from the Ordinary Skin Care brand as well which means it is affordable, so yeah. Let's get straight to the video and I'm going to do a breakdown of what I think and every other thing. Okay guys so the product I'm going to be testing today is the Ordinary's Azelaic Acid Suspension in 10%. Now I don't know if you're familiar with Azelaic Acid but it's a very good substitute for vitamin C

 Now if you're like me and you have all these things because I have hyperpigmentation, my skin texture is a bit off, like right now I'm breaking out and my pores are a bit more visible and my skin is really really dry at the moment, I don't know if it's about lockdown but I'm really really my skin is getting really dry. But anyways, in terms of, we're just going to go through it, so I'm going to give you just some little quick tips about Azelaic Acid and you know what it is. I've used Azelaic Acid in the past, I've used this as a peeling solution before, it's worked amazing. When I used it, I used the higher concentration to peel my skin and to get rid of dead skin and it really really worked amazing

I love it but...

 It is produced by yeast and found in things like wheat and barley. And the number one thing that this product is really amazing for and why it is probably included along with all the other regular AHAs and BHAs that we're probably more familiar with is that it provides a very similar function. It does similar things, gives similar benefits to the skin as traditional AHAs and BHAs. And that is why this one in particular that the Ordinary offers is at a 10%, maybe rather than a 5%

 So again, anyone out there that deals with a lot of issues of irritation and redness and dullness that other traditional products that we maybe see more of coming out on the market are just not going to work for you. They're going to take care of one problem but create another. Azelaic acid is definitely something to try to replace those. When using this product, you definitely want to make sure and Dessium also notes that as well on their website that it shouldn't be combined with other acids, vitamin C, retinol type products

 You may not want to use a vitamin C product because it's too irritating. Definitely not maybe any retinol products. So again, anyone out there that deals with a lot of issues of irritation and redness and dullness that other traditional products that we maybe see more of coming out on the market are just not going to work for you. They're going to take care of one problem but create another

The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% Review

I have had a lot of success with The Ordinary Azelaic acid and Avené Cicalfate+ cream. The Cicalfate is zinc-based which is good for calming irritation and creating a healthy microbiome.

Redness help! What serums/moisturizers would help with this?

I love how this makes my skin feel, although admittedly I don't see much difference in 'brightening' (the ALA serum is much better for that). This is like a light weight cream formula that completely vanishes into my skin without leaving any tacky after feel. I instantly feel a light tingle when I apply, almost like a slight 'tightening' sensation, although it doesn't irritate in any way. By the next morning ( I use on a night time only) my skin, especially the more bumpier areas such as my nose and forehead, feel a lot smoother
