 These little bands one side there and it goes under your pad and hooks on to the other side help with keeping the warmth in because they have a baffle that sticks so you see how that hooks on to your pad. Well between the pad and you is there's little baffle which is something I haven't seen on other quilts. Other quilts they usually have the hooks right there at the ends. so and that does actually make a difference in keeping the warmth

It also has as most quilts do where you can easily cinch it around your neck with a little button there and then you just draw that and then you've got it a nice tight and that even that has baffles on it. So a very lightweight quilt and like I said, this is the large and it weighs about 480 grams and it's got a comfort temperature of around 5 degrees Celsius which is about I Think that's fair

Thermarest Vesper quilt 32 review

 I'm not a fan of how wide the shoulders are, as it's just wasted weight on me and is somewhat difficult to keep on top of my sleeping pad (due in part to the pad attachment system discussed below). Probably my biggest gripe about the the quilt is its clunky pad attachment system. It's elastic but nonadjustable. You can tie knots to make it smaller, but then you're sleeping on knots

Used for 1500 miles!

 The opening is a bit wider so it's easier to put the quilt in here. The quilt works great in the hammock. It stays where it needs to be and it's easy to get in and out. But how does it perform on flat ground? [Music] It took us about 30 to 40 minutes to get here

 It's warm, light, and packs down very small. It wasn't cheap, but I really hope I don't have to buy any other quilt or sleeping bag for a very long time. [music] You.

My first and hopefully last quilt - Thermarest Vesper Quilt -6C/20F

Didn't meet expectations

 There's two points where you can add a strap for your sleeping pad in order to keep the quilt in place. There's a point here and then another point here so there's little loops at either of these spots and then you can attach a strap like right here underneath the sleeping pad to keep the quilt in place. and I really like having that strap underneath the sleeping pad because when I'm moving around a lot, it keeps the quilt in place and I don't end up with the quilt coming off of me and leaving me with cold spots. It also I find helps a little bit keep the drafts out

 the 10 denier nylon seems really durable, all the stitching seems really nice, and it's nice to see that at least the quilt is true to the comfort rating that they advertise it at. You know, the little details with this quilt seem to have been done well from the width of the foot box which is wide enough that I never felt like my feet were constricted, to the little loops always kind of holding on to that pad strap to the neck baffle here and the clip, as well as a side baffling being wide enough and thick enough to keep any drafts out as I've used this quote I haven't really noticed any crazy migration of down within the bag. You do have horizontal baffles throughout the entire way with baffling. Write down each side right here to keep the down from migrating to the sides

 You may have also heard that it's uncomfortable relative to a sleeping bag and I'm gonna get into the comfort of the quilt, but I would also just say spoiler alert. The quilt is really comfortable. Cost-wise quilts should be a little bit cheaper, but because of their lack of availability and broad manufacturing, then you end up being about the same price as a sleeping bag, especially in Canada. So this quilt just came out by therm rest this year and is available for three hundred and seventy dollars U

 I sleep a bit warm, so if you do sleep colder, maybe add a couple degrees to those comfort comfort limits. So the last thing I want to talk about with this quilt is comfort. I Don't think people talk about how much more comfortable quilts are compared to sleeping bags. I'm using sleeping bags my whole life and I didn't know what I was missing with the quilt
