Our former inexpensive winner had another strong showing. It was dead accurate and extremely fast. Compared with fancier models, this model felt like driving a standard car. The display does rotate and has a backlight, but you have to stop and press a button for both functions. You have to be more careful when holding its small lollipop-shaped head, but it makes the best of its size with a grippy, ergonomic design that's reasonably secure and easy to push and pull out of dense foods. Because the head is so small, this model did put our hands a little closer to the heat.

 Use a little Cr I believe it's called a 2032 battery. It's a little disc battery and uh, there's three buttons on it. so take this piece off. you have a light button here right there which it does have a little Led backlight, your power button right here, and then your mode switching so you can switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius right here

 But it sells for about 35 and it is the more affordable version of the very famous Thermapen which is about 100 meat thermometer that is highly recommended by a bunch of different chefs and cooks illustrated and all these other places. This is a more affordable model and a little bit smaller, so I gave it a shot. Like I said was about 35 purchased directly. so I want to run through some of the features and then talk through how I feel about the device itself

Again, I'm coming from an oxo which is about 19 that got splashed and it broke, which is really disappointing. I'd rather have a good 35 dollar model than a 20 model that broke after a month, so this seemed like a good investment

The cheaper thermoworks thermopop/dash/whatever they have now is all you need. The thermopen isn't worth 3x the price for slightly faster and more accurate. Anything else is garbage (yes I've had lavatools and far too many top rated Amazon thermometers). Buy directly from thermoworks or you will get a counterfeit
