 It didn't feel right yet. So I asked someone who did also reviews of tomato backpacks what he thought about this problem and he said that it would mold to my back after a few days or weeks of use. And indeed, after about two weeks the bag came much more comfortable to use. and I guess it fits my back right now so it gets comfortable after a few days of use

 Why? Because zippers can break and fail much more quickly on a backpack that you use quite roughly and it's harder to repair. Whereas the simple Clips like this, you can buy them for 50 cents each and a quick repair each in and it it makes also less noise. Let's see you, we get late to a meeting or to a class. then a big zip like this I Don't vote for the worst, but the velcro on this one is not too bad

 So let's dive in the interior now of the main pocket so it has a sorry for the lighting and like lots of compartments with mesh very deep. It says it can fit to up to a 15 inch inch laptop and I've used it for my laptop. it's 15.6 inch

 So I'm a university student so I've got my laptop here in its bag a lot of charger I have this little pocket here in which I keep all my liking cell phone chargers and other cables and school notes and books here I got my lunch water bottle and I got my wallet keys cell phone I've got this is my headphone plug it here a little notebook I keep on hand every day little emergency flashlight here a pen and this is just to like. It'll shoot to clean my glasses. so I'll show you how it looks when the bag is full. So this is what the bag looks on me

I need something that is:

- 13+ litre capacity / will fit 13” inch laptop 
- at least one but ideally two cup holders (I have a long commute and do lots of travelling and need the liquids)
- looks smart with a suit and in court (I’m a lawyer)
- brief / messenger style 
- ideally made with recycled / eco materials 
- water resistant and heavy duty fabric 

This is the best option I’ve seen so far but thanks for any suggestions or comments about the bellroy!

Alternatives to Bellroy System Messenger / Work Bag?

This has been my work bag and carry-on for almost a year. I travel between US and Asia, and although the double clips plus velcro flip-top holds stuff securely, the lack of a quick access zipper for your laptop means you have to undo everything to get the laptop out - which is troublesome when going through airport security. I kind of hate the mesh laptop compartment in general. When the bag is loaded, getting the laptop down in there is a challenge, and the usb dongle for my mouse catches on the mesh on a regular basis

 A dedicated and properly padded laptop compartment would have made this perfect for my needs. Construction, capacity and exterior design are great for this price point, but it suffers in functionality. The Spire might have been the better choice, and I'll probably get one of those next time I'm in the Bay area.

 I kind of hate the mesh laptop compartment in general.  The other plus I like the chest strap and waist strap because it keep the bag still on my rides or even just quick sprints to catch my train,bus or crossing the street while the light still green. I think they could have added a pocket on the flap too but ahhh that's just me being me. My over all its not bad.

 The plus it has many pockets for all my stuff and plenty space on the inside of the bag and it seem very rugged. My laptop would be fine inside but I think a true laptop backpack should be water tight or resistant.  The laptop compartment is lifted higher so it would be safe, though. As with many other Timbuk2 backpacks, the water bottler compartment could be taller.

It was good when new, but still with flaws

An adult woman is looking for a built to last backpack for university that would fit with formal or conservative clothing.

I think it's a great bag if you're a commuter, in school and bike around but I was pretty bummed out and disappointed after being caught in the rain that the bag is not waterproof at all, all of my stuff was soaked thankfully I didn't have any electronics inside because that was one of the main factors in deciding to purchase the bag. I'd definitely recommend it as a good bag to get but would warn that your contents will get wet if the bag gets wet

I usually buy swisstech or whatever is at Walmart which is great for my wallet the day of purchase but I usually have to bring so much stuff that they break, or maybe its the quality who knows, but I end up spending more since I have to replace them so often. But I am looking for a backpack that I can use for the foreseeable future that is durable that also doesn't look tiny when I wear it (usually backpacks sit a bit short). I really don't like the "tactical" aesthetic and and cant really spend more than $200.

I know this is a big ask, but any recommendations for a durable and quality backpack for a  6'2 tall college student who wants to carry a 15 inch laptop and a bunch of books.
