Tongsheng TSDZ2 (aftermarket kit):  500w nominal -- does not seem to peak as high as the BBS02. Torque sensing motor similar to Shimano and Bosch. Open Source firmware available from the community is somewhat difficult to set up, but once you do, it absolutely transforms the motor.

 It really is really is a nice little boy to ride. So I want to do now is I'm gonna jump on it and take it for a quick spin. Well, we're in level 2 at the moment or mode a percent gradient and it is really easy to pedal. Not a lot of effort put a little bit in on compare the experience to UM cycling an all-boy cover up a slight Radian What's about 10% on this section? Still fairly effortless

I’m looking to buy my first ebike and found a pretty good deal on a used creo sl but I’m still a bit caught off guard by the $5000+ price tag on the creo especially when comparing it to a brand like rad power that seems like people like.  

My primary use case for the bike is commuting to work and back ~5 miles.  I currently do it on a normal bike but don’t love being super sweaty at work so an ebike seemed like a best of both worlds situation.  I can afford the creo despite it not being the best financial decision but I’m curious if people think it’s actually worth it to invest in a more expensive bike.  

The pros I see are reliability, ease of getting it serviced, higher end frame that I could do some longer endurance rides on if I wanted.  I’m curious what folks experience with both specialized and other ebike brands have been and if you own a specialized, would you buy one again?

<p>Edit: to add to this, the biggest appeal of the specialized to me is it’s ability to be almost a regular road bike but flatten the hills a bit.  I live in Northern California so we have some pretty mean hills around here that I’d love to do some long rides over but have previously not been fit enough to tackle some of them.</p>

Specialized ebike vs cheaper online retailer like radpower

 What sort of questions would you would you ask? Alright, so why would I choose this motor? Okay, firstly, price. Secondly, it is a talk assist motor so it's something you can just pass this bike on to anyone. Now, you don't have to tell them how to write it because it's just like writing it on the bike. so they press hard and it goes faster

 We can now do a hundred and thirty rpm at sixty ball, so you've got no limitations there on your heart. Um, what you do want to make sure of is that you're not actually feeding at any power so you can reduce the amount of amps going into the motor so that the overall power is roughly the same. So there is a project on in the sphere where we can update the firmware and we can. We can enter our own amp limiting and power limiting and all kinds of great stuff and I'm going to be installing that as well

 You move your feet around, you'll be doing 45 K an hour. Now with this motor, you've actually got a pedal. You've got a press hard if you want to go fast. Okay, it does make you work for it

I know I want to get an ebike, but not sure what I want. I commute for work when I don’t work from home. I’ll ride in the rain and cold. I’m planing to sell my car soon (but will buy another within a year), so I’ll rely on it more soon.

My main reason for getting an ebike is to save time. I want to ride more, but it takes too much time to get around. I also like the workout I get, so don’t want to sacrifice to much physical effort. Class 1 I think would be fine. 

I also plan to retrofit a kids carrier for hauling (though not likely do much of that and would usually be groceries). 

 Anyone have a similar experience or have insight they’re willing to share? I know this isn’t a clear question here, but trying to figure out what would work best for me. 

My budget would be around USD 2k.

Trying to decide between a conversion kit for a bike I like or a new ebike.

Takes the pressure off and I can ride fast like I used to! I can't say enough that this torque-sensing is worth every penny. I tried out some other bikes with hub and bafang mid motors and didn't like it much. But this torque sensing tsdz2 is totally phenomenal for the price.

After *4 years* lurking, finally joined the club! TSZD2 (more details/install pics in comments). A little work but it's wonderful.

We are thinking about if/when to get our daughter an ebike so she can ride with us. 
Of course because of the cost, we want something that will last, both in terms of quality and size.

1.	Are there any good ebikes for kids out there?
2.	At what age/height can you get a child that will last them several years?

(She is currently two months away from being 10 and is average height for her age).

I’m a heavy rider and am looking to start ebiking. I bought a brand new Trek Verve (not electric) a couple summers ago, but now I want an ebike. Should I convert it or buy a “real” electric bike? Looking at more of a cruiser/cargo-type bike. Radcity, radrunner plus, etc. also, are those long tail cargo bikes a pain to park and turn? Are the overkill if I just want to cruise around for exercise and fun and the occasional hauling?
