5 GHz Wi-Fi right at the beginning, of course I was meant to say 2.4. I'm very happy with this Wi-Fi access point, it's never let me down yet, the connection is solid, it seems to be able to keep up with the demands that we have in the house and we do use quite a lot of Wi-Fi devices. So yeah I would recommend this TP-Link access point to anyone who's in the market for one

 And we're going to give it a password. We're not going to enable the portal and we're not going to enable SSID isolation and we're going to click OK. Once we've done that we can see that our new SSID is listed here and it's enabled so I would recommend deleting the default here, the one that doesn't have any security on it as well. It could go in and enable a password here but it's just a bit messy, there's no reason to have to

 Okay we're not going to set up any VLANs at the moment. We do want to broadcast this SSID and we're going to choose the standard security option here in the UK. And we're going to give it a password. We're not going to enable the portal and we're not going to enable SSID isolation and we're going to click OK

This is more than enough bandwidth for my 4k bluray remuxes. The 100 mbit port on the LG CX can stutter in high bitrate scenes on 4K bluray remuxes, but is good enough for any online streaming service.

I’m looking for a USB Ethernet Gigabit Adapter that works without any hiccups on the LG CX. I currently have a UGREEN USB 3.0 adapter which works, but I have to unplug and plug it back in every time I restart the TV, which is a hassle. Has anyone here found one that works well?

Wiring CAT6 to most rooms of my home but would also like good WiFi coverage. It's a small house and would need at most a access point per floor (3) on the same network. I have seen access points like ubiquiti in corporate location but these seem expensive. Could I use some APs with DD-WRT and get similar results?

Multiple Access Points

Fine if you want it to assign IP addresses.  Not fine if you want it to work as a switch.

I love apple. That’s why I’m here. My old setup was really good in theory. On the right side of the house was an airport time capsule. I had a hardwired cat 7 Ethernet from that to an AirPort Extreme on the left side of the house. 

For whatever reason though, it was just unstable. I’d wake up to over 50 alerts that my cameras went offline. Constant notifications throughout the day. 

Even my ping speed was like 70-80 on my Mac when hardwired. 


Welp, someone said to upgrade and I did. I was hesitant because in my brain I figured Apple was still optimizing HomeKit for their routers, idk why. But anyway I upgraded. Got the linksys velop. And literally all my issues are solved. 



TL;DR
The last AirPort Extreme and time capsule were designed in 2013 (still sold until 2018 though). That’s 8 year old technology. Upgrade to something better. It’s worth it.
