Traeger Century 885

Traeger Ironwood 885 owner here, purist stick burner by trade, commercial size offset reverse flow rigs. The pellet smoke does not compare. The convenience and ease is a blessing. Your smoke rings will look gorgeous on pellet but I’d venture to claim that the smoke flavor is well below half of what my reverse offsets impart in flavor.

I had a Traeger Century 885 (costco) and returned it after 9 months. Took the money and bought a RecTeq 700, gets delivered tomorrow. I was having issues with Traeger’s temperature probes and a 60 degree difference between left and right side of grill. I tried everything in the 9 months including new probes, new fan, a homemade baffle (read about that online).

I have wanted a wood pellet grill for a really long time and finally pulled the trigger on the Century 885 while at Costco. The sales guy said it was basically the same thing as the Ironwood 885 but since it was at Costco, it was cheaper. "Great!
