Bought a Traeger Mesa 22 from Costco, and decided to return it. The flame went out in the middle of a smoke, it seems lightweight and flimsy.

As above, I just picked up my Traeger Mesa 22 at Costco last Sunday. I’ve never had a smoker before, but i’ve always wanted one.

Finally my wife came home with one and it made me realize that having a Traeger is better than not having a Traeger. If the price is right, I’d say go for it. Upgrade later if you get enough use out of it to justify the larger one. For reference I have a Mesa 22 from Costco and have only wished I had a bigger one once or twice.

They are both smaller models, because I never cook for more than 4 people really, and usually only 2. I have a COSTCO membership, and am looking at a couple of different models I can order from there (I love their warrantee/return policy and their proces are pretty good overall... Traeger Mesa 22 for $550. Traeger Texas Elite 34 for $599. I took the Silverton 620 off the list of options because it is out of my budget at $800.
