However, I have two little kids and having two large speakers a couple feet from the wall on stands seems like a recipe for disaster. So, I'm settling for the smaller Triangles Br02 (8 ohm, 80 watt, 89 sensitivity) so I can keep them a little closer to the wall and have them fit on a media console/vinyl storage I'm making. I'm open to other recommends for speakers, too. That being said, I'm looking for something a little more minimal and simple to use (2-channel plus sub is fine)

I've purchased a Marantz MM7025 for my front Revel M105's.  They were run off of a Denon AVR-X4400h, and now the Denon is being used as a preamp for the L & R speakers only.  The problem is I don't hear any difference in sound.  I'm not sure what I expected, but it doesn't sound different to me at all.  Should I wait until the amp has been on for multiple days?  Should I worry that the speakers have only about 40 hours on them?  Should I try another amplifier?  I'm not looking to crank it up, but I was hoping my music and movies would sound better with the MM7025.  Any advice would be appreciated.

I am running a Realistic SA-2000 integrated amp to a pair of Klipsch KG4 speakers. I do plan on gaming and either keeping my Spotify premium and getting Tidal HiFi in addition to that. Given the amplifier type and speaker type, what sort of DAC should I be looking for? Schiit Modi 3 seems good, but I am left wondering if the multibit would be worth anything.

My PC uses the Realtek ALC1220 codec on a high end motherboard with isolated chip and optical out. I plan on comparing the optical out to DAC vs the unprocessed USB signal to DAC for fun. I suspect noise won't be a factor, I've never heard anything on my $150 range closed back headphones and 250 ohm open back headphones.

Honestly most of my use of the amp and speakers will be playing vinyl through a Fluance RT-85, and 1 of 3 preamps just for fun and comparison. Built-in on the Realistic, a Cambridge Audio Solo, and some crazy Realistic external preamp I found. Cursory listening put the Realistic built-in on the same level as the Cambridge Audio...but that's all unrelated to my question. Just having fun with it all!

I think I'm willing to spend maybe $250 on the DAC. I don't want to be overspending if something else in the line can't hold up their end of the bargain so to speak. The speakers are no slouch though and neither is the amp.

Since then, one of the speakers has broken - the motherboard that connects the power supply to the speaker has snapped after the speaker was dropped (verified by opening the speaker up - the speaker receives no power). I am wondering what to buy next. I am thinking of buying a new JBL 305 and possibly an amplifier/subwoofer to go with it (the speaker is primarily used for parties).

1. It it worth upgrading the speaker and having two different speakers? Or should I just buy another 305? (Price range for a speaker is $200 ish, jbl 305 runs about $130 now)
2. I am also looking for recommendations for a amplifier and subwoofer (if its worth it). Price range for each is flexible but around $100 each if the price justifies it (I don't know much about amps/subs so not sure if worth

We recently started thinking about improving the audio in our main living spaces. Without displaying a floor plan, I'd love recommendations for speakers that can be googleafied and added to a home group. Bonus points if there is a way to our small family room tv to a stereo pair or sound bar. The primary use of this space will be music listening however.

Ps. Is sonos really the only player for what I'm looking for? Could bluesound work for me?

Hi im quite new to this field. I currently have a sound system composed of 2 loud hifi speakers, 1 tweeter for one of the loudspeaker since the other one broke down months ago. My amplifier is a 300 watts 2 channel sakura amplifier. My speakers are both 10 inch Hi-Fi speakers @40khz -2khz freq response. 

It sounds really bad especially in capturing bass in playing some music. I was told by my neighbor that this is because of the specifications of the loud speakers. With that in mind i have few plans with simple questions.

1. Getting a subwoofer is one of the best way to do it but the question is that how many should i get?
2. Is is preferable to get a passive subwoofer and install it side by side with my current speakers or get a ready made active sub woofer
3. My speaker enclosures are degrading since it was made using mdf and had been performing for more than 10 years now. Im planning to make new enclosures with the dimensions bigger  as what i have now  since i want to add subwoofer in the enclosure. For balancing purposes im thinking 2 passive sub woofers one in each enclosures. Is this a good idea?
4. If 3 is a good idea how would i wire it? Parallel or series?
5. If 3 is a bad idea then my second option is to make 3 new enclosures  2 for my current loudspeakers and 1 for the subwoofer following the current dimensions of my speaker enclosures. If this is the case how should i wire this?
6. What could be the other ways (best) ways to solve my problems

Triangle Borea Br02 + SMSL SA300 — Will This Work?

I just moved into a new house and I'm finally putting together a vinyl setup (Uturn with built-in phono).

I was going to go for the Klipsch 600m. However, I have two little kids and having two large speakers a couple feet from the wall on stands seems like a recipe for disaster.

So, I'm settling for the smaller Triangles Br02 (8 ohm, 80 watt, 89 sensitivity) so I can keep them a little closer to the wall and have them fit on a media console/vinyl storage I'm making. I'm open to other recommends for speakers, too.

That being said, I'm looking for something a little more minimal and simple to use (2-channel plus sub is fine). Will the SMSL SA300 amplifier (8 ohm/40 watt per channel) drive these speakers fine enough? I don't want to spend crazy money right now. I just want a simple amp that has a clean line for around $250.

I'm open to suggestions.

Sitting at my desk now, I’m rather sad to be away from it. What’s a good setup for at a desk? Emphasis on simplicity. Perhaps active speakers and a nice DAC to connect to a MacBook Pro? I’m in the dark here. Let’s say a budget up to $5k all in. Have a 24/192 FLAC collection so nice equipment won’t go to waste.

Just received a refund on amazon for some returned headphones. Instead of buying another pair I decided to dip my ears into speakers instead and ordered these:

Just ordered an Audioengine A2+. Am I able to connect it to my FIIO E10K? It has coaxial out behind it. Do I need to buy additional cables?
Edit: Just realized it has builtin DAC through USB. Should I still connect to my FIIO E10K? It shouldn't be using my mobo's sound card right?(bc my mobo soundcard sucks)

I have my klipsch R41m bookshelf speakers mounted directly on a brick wall. This is obviously horrible placement, and I will do something better when I upgrade my speakers and buy stands to go with them. 

In the mean time, how can I expect the brick wall-mounted arrangement to impact the sound? (I use a sub crossed over at 90hz with much more thoughtful placement).

I am looking to upgrade my sound system. I have 5 JBL speakers, I don't have the models name on hand. Just was looking for recommendations on an amp or receiver that I can hook up to them as well as a record player and cassette player. The high end of my budget would be 1,000 and I would also be interested in purchasing good used equipment if anyone could point me in that direction.

r/audiophile Shopping and Setup Help Desk (2020-10-17)

 This also depends on your amp, the better amps bring out more bass so they both can be boomy depending on that. With the fosi BT30D they definitely are not boomy, with the denon 600ne i noticed they kinda were. I've compared both 2s and 3s for awhile and the only thing really noticeable otherwise was the 2s were warmer and easier to listen to with all songs, the 3s just can be a little bright sometimes. I've tried both on two different amps and still the 2s sound more laid back on either

 The Denon just has more power and gives a little better sound stage and clarity. But both do the job especially for near field. Anyway I don't do reviews often but I thought I'd share my thoughts because I've looked and read so much about speakers in my price range of $500-1k.  Im still gonna keep the Bro3s, I just needed something smaller for my desktop so I figured the bro2s would fit better in my space and still have that awesome tone, imaging, sound stage and clarity of the bro3s

. they also have a nice relaxed sound, and its not a flat relaxed, they can still be exciting and forward like their bigger bros. Voices sound so real and in your face, but not in a bad fatiguing way like Klipsch speakers can be. Its crazy how these can sound better than speakers twice the price or more

. They sound better than the kef 150s IMHO. And those are some good speakers if you didn't know.

. Sound stage is impressive for the price and size of the cabinet (thanks denon for the clean signal and power)  Well I could go on and on, I can only recommend them for small room or desk. Try to have a listen if you can.

I am using the BR02 on a small room - desk situation and I am loving it 100%. Running from toslink from Mac mini to Denon pma600ne (yep not the small for a desk set up) with pad under the BR02, and quite close to the back wall (for bass increase and lack of space) After a run of about 2 week (over 100hr) the sound stabilise and it is neutral - detailed but not on the cold side of neutrality (I can hardly explain that Triangle sound signature - check ZeosPantera on YouTube) The build for the price is very hight and feels premium and feet greatly my desk amp.. Sound stage is impressive for the price and size of the cabinet (thanks denon for the clean signal and power)  Well I could go on and on, I can only recommend them for small room or desk

Loving it

 The lows are pretty impressive for this size, no earth-shattering but I don't feel like they need a sub for my setup at all. They work equally great with music, movies or gaming. They look fantastic with the covers off and the woodgrain vinyl wrap is better than expected. Overall, for this price point and size, I could not be more impressed

I am running these on 36" stands beside my desk about 8 ft apart. They sound absolutely amazing! Driving them with a Marantz PM6005 that I got cheap secondhand and it's more than enough power. Volume never needs to go above 30% so they are very efficient. The highs are crystal clear without being sibilant or harsh, and I am pretty sensitive to the high frequencies

 They image off-axis like a good speaker should with little to no loss of quality. Walk into another room and you can still hear rich detailed sound. Build quality is good but the vinyl does seem to scratch easy so be careful. Triangle has a new fan

Forget the overpriced DACs, Cables and Magic Crystals! This *THIS* is what you should spend your money on and then pair them up with a nice solid amp. Done. They don't require exotic components to tease out the sound or "fix" anything. They sound excellent at low volume as well as high volume (many speakers can't achieve this)

Best money you can spend in Audio is on the speakers.

Using in a desktop setup, very satisfied with the sound quality! Some may find the treble is a little bright but this can be adjusted by changing positions and angles of the speaker to your likings.  The soundstage and imaging is amazing! When I played Adele's I drink wine, it was quite a surprise that I find the singer is right in the middle with two rows of backing vocals on the left and the right, an experience I never had before. Previously with my desktop speakers, the sound just exists without direction or position. The soundstage and imaging thing is a very pleasant add to the overall listening experience

High quality speakers

 Now really enjoyable. Would buy them again 100%. Crisp and natural sound. Look great too
