The Vasque Juxt has impressed us for years with its performance per dollar ratio. This inexpensive model is comfortable, supportive, and is a recommended shoe for those hiking in dry environments like the desert. The outsole is grippy and offers excellent traction on dry rock, and the leather upper is more durable than many synthetic materials while still maintaining a lighter-than-average weight. We love this shoe as a do-it-all day hiker for warm-weather activities like desert hiking that do not require a waterproof membrane.
We found that the Juxt has a few issues to be aware of. It is not waterproof &#40;by design&#41;, so it should be considered for mostly dry conditions lest the unlined upper wet out. The upper is single-stitched, and we've seen some long-term durability issues that should be monitored. Otherwise, they are quite a good entry-level hiking shoe at an affordable price.

One of the most noted concerns is a shoe coming part of these seams on this side and this side here consumers have posted pics of this issue. I don't know about you, but those shoes look like they have had that ripped out of them

 It feels like a mix of a slipper and a tennis shoe, and it's just super comfortable combine that with fast OTG off the grid, solar mix, a broad surface plug from the forefoot, with smaller angular lugs along the perimeter contract, and then we're going to knock her Down who what all that means is that you have a great form-fitting, solid shoe that makes you feel connected to the ground like only a quality lace to toe shoe can ask for sizing. They are spot-on. I wear a seven and a half. These are seven and a half they fit me perfectly

Vasque Juxt Review

  On the first few wearings, there was noticeable heel lift. This has diminished somewhat as the shoes have broken in - perhaps because the sole has softened up and perhaps because the shoe is molding to my foot. But it remains true that the heel fit of the Juxt does not seem as.

 If Lowas are BMWs, Vasque would be a Chevrolet. Solid materials and workmanship. Decent value at this price-point.  One niggle: As another reviewer commented, the laces are constructed of a "slippery" material and have a propensity to loosen even when double knotted

 Seems to grip well enough. Haven't had the shoe out in inclement weather so cannot comment on performance in wet or mud.  Quality of materials / construction: No complaints (so far). Similar quality to my Vasque Snowblimes

Okay not great.  More trail runner than hiker.

 The the sole very comfortable, very comfortable - indeed, I recently wore these on a 34 mile date hike. It took me 12 hours to do that and with these shoes, no issues of being uncomfortable, like I've done 15 mile hikes before with other shoes that have left me. So blistered I mean I'm talking like silver dollar sized blisters and to the point where I couldn't walk for like a week being so messed up and with these very little blisters, not on the heels not on the sides had a couple month. I think, but I mean for 34 miles 12 hours of hiking

Vasque Men's Juxt Multisport Shoe - The Outdoor Gear Review

 For twice what they cost I could buy a pair of boots that will last me the rest of my life of daily hard use on the homestead.  I wanted these for summer use when its hot outside and heavy footwear is like drudging through shin high wet concrete. These are great shoes in terms of comfort. I use them for everything to include daily use on the homestead, mowing 5 acres of brush grass, hiking, fishing, hunting, etc

 but they do not last and should be half the price of what they are so just know that if you are looking at them.  They are a well known brand in the outdoors community and these shoes come highly recommended but the heals compress very quickly and they get uncomfortable in short order. The life span of a shoe like this for such a high cost should be closer to 1-2 years without a single issue. Instead my first pair lost support and popped the stitching in less than 3 months

Wanted to put this out there because I think it is important. Firstly, I do like these shoes. They are very comfortable and breathe well. They are not the least bit waterproof but do seem to air dry within a day

Know what you are buying.

 Now, I'm upset with myself. I'm dropping my review to 3 stars because they just don't hold up over time. This pair was used for minimal hiking and mostly normal, everyday wear. The rubber part that covers the front of the shoe toes area started peeling off again

 The hard rubber tread of the sole began to separate from the soft foam that's underneath it. And rocks will slice right through that foam. If this pair of shoes cost $55 they might be worth it. Don't think you are getting durable hiking shoes that will last for multiple seasons

 The thread is not thick. After that thread breaks the materials start to separate from each other. As these shoes neared the end of their life one of them began to squeak in the heel every time I stepped down. That's really annoying and embarrassing

 It's not stitched, so when the adhesive starts to fail they are done. The large orange stitches that hold the material together failed again near the front of the shoe, on the side/top. The thread is not thick. After that thread breaks the materials start to separate from each other

 I searched Amazon for "men's approach shoe", narrowed the price to what I wanted to pay, checked for highest average review and found these. I'd owned Vasque brand before, but over 14 years ago, and those shoes were, honestly, garbage in short time. I hope these treat me well.
