I bought the Blur Busters 2.0 approved monitor, the XG2431, and I've never been happier with a monitor purchase. It does require manual tweaking and using custom resolutions to get the most out of it but it's absolutely worth it. I've got a Samsung Q90t which also supports 60hz strobing and that expensive 4k TV looks so much worse than this significantly cheaper 1080p monitor.

Viewsonic XG2431, no reason to get any other 1080p monitor unless is not available in your region. It's the best 1080p240Hz monitor available (IPS panel with the best motion performance and comparable to the XL2546K in motion detail including when using DyAC+ & BLS). It is $300 on Amazon.

I was recommended the 240Hz panel by Viewsonic its the XG2431. not sure what the input lag really is on it TBH.

For the games you've mentioned, it's likely that the PG would be the better choice, but I'm not sure you can even buy the PG anywhere now as it's sold out. There really is no future-proofing either; these are amazing monitors for their use cases, but within the coming years, others will take their place very quickly. Look at the XG2431 from Viewsonic: it's already an IPS alternative which supposedly strobes as well as the XL2546k while also providing far more ways to tune the strobing modes.

All in all there are other products without this problem, I'm done with VAs and will be getting the alienware one with a gsync module (don't care about the fan) and or just waiting 5 more months until the viewsonic 1440p 240hz one comes out. I asked myself if I needed this now and I just don't for Rocket league or Battlefield and Halo. I'll get a zowie xl2546k for super competitive play that can drive 240fps and or use the dyac+ mode and cap it so it doesn't fluctuate. Orr the blur busters xg2431 coming out is an IPS 1080p panel as well approved by blurbusters with a 60hz mode for retro gaming :).
