 For starters, its conical shape is optimized to produce a blending vortex which allows ingredients to fall continuously towards the blade. This ensures that an even consistency can be achieved throughout, even when using the jug to its 2 liter limit. Additionally, the jug features a blunted blade, a style that is standard for all modern vitamix blenders, thanks to the motor's immense power. This style of blade is just as effective as a sharp blade at blending ingredients

 I did not take into consideration that the 64 oz container that comes with this model is too big for many blending jobs. Because it’s so wide at the bottom, many recipes can’t be successfully blended - the contents end up splashed on the sides and under the blades of the 64 oz container leaving those powerful Vitamix blades spinning helplessly in the air. Sauces and nut butters don’t work at all and single-serving smoothies and frozen desserts work only if you add extra ingredients and scrape down the sides frequently (making the pre-programmed settings worthless). Several times I had to dump everything out of my new Vitamix and finish the job with my $59 immersion blender

Generally speaking, I like my new Vitamix. I spent a lot of time researching which blender to buy because of the high price. I did not take into consideration that the 64 oz container that comes with this model is too big for many blending jobs. Because it’s so wide at the bottom, many recipes can’t be successfully blended - the contents end up splashed on the sides and under the blades of the 64 oz container leaving those powerful Vitamix blades spinning helplessly in the air

  In the end, I spent the extra $150 to buy the 48 oz container (the even-smaller Ascent series containers looked interesting but are poorly reviewed). Everything works much better in the smaller container so I’m happily blending now with the 64 oz. container taking up space at the back of my cupboard.  In the end, I feel very manipulated by having had to spend another $150 for good results, but I guess I have to say “well played Vitamix, well played”

Unboxing the Vitamix Ascent A2500

We have a Ninja blender and we like it, but it doesn't get things quite as smooth as a 5200 would. We primarily use it for soups, hummus, nut butters, etc, and &lt;50% of the time for smoothies. 

I'm looking at buying a 5200, but I really don't like the fact that it can only do one thing. I generally like multi-purpose appliances, and it would be silly to have a 2HP motor in my kitchen that can't also chop/grate/etc. 

I've been looking at their non-legacy models, but every review I've found says that, while they're good, they can't match the performance of the 5200. Bought this because it is supposed to have great power for blending. I like to make smoothies. I use frozen fruit and some juice but it seems like every time I make one the blender over heats starts to smoke and shuts down. For 500

As per title. If I intend to use the app. Should I just get a A2300 and be done with it instead of going all the way to A3500? From what I gathered, the motor and mechanics are all identical. It's just a bunch of fancy touch buttons and presets on the blender itself.

If I use the app, I heard there's programmable mode too? So... What's on the blender make absolutely no difference?

Also, are mechanical buttons on the 2300/2500 more reliable than the touch buttons on 3500?

I'm having a tough time making a decision on which vitamix to buy - the 5200 or the A2300.

My primary reason for buying a vitamix is to make smoothies (single servings for the most part). Based off research, if seems like the narrow container is better for single servings.

However, I'd also like a versatile blender. I will definitely make more than just smoothies in the blender. Since the A2300 is in the ascent line, it offers many more potential containers, like the food processor.

The newer technology on the Ascent isn't too important for me, I just want a blender that makes amazing smoothies, but is not tied down because of it. Thoughts on which one to get?

<p>Edit: After reading all of the comments and going over my priorities, I&#39;ve actually decided to go for the A2500. A few reasons why I ended up choosing it: the future-proofing that the ascent line offers, the versatility of the container (not having a super narrow bottom like the 5200), and the presets (for the convenience, the small price bump from the A2300 seems to be worth it). I am worried about single servings but will have to see for myself how it performs. Worst case scenario is that I return it before the 30 days runs out.</p>
