Why does it take so long to get fully functional sound? Turn it on, get no sound for about 5 minutes. Then it comes out in short bursts for the next 10 minutes. Finally you get steady sound. It seems to take longer every time we turn it on

 Now I was hoping that the subwoofers up here were Atmos speakers, but as it turns out, when I looked at the driver configuration, those hopes were dashed. So we'll see how that goes. Now, you know, I'm surprised by one of the input options here. The first thing I noticed is that there are two aux inputs, one dedicated for a voice assistant, one for anything else you want to connect

 That's not stopping Vizio from trying though. I mean, this box has all the buzzwords, right? We've got HDMI EARC, Dolby Atmos, DTS-X, six speakers with dual built-in subwoofers. I mean, that's like all the things you want, all in one tiny little soundbar, and it's only about 200 bucks. How bad could it be? Well, I think the better question is how good could it be? And I ask that question because Vizio has flat out shocked me before, so I wouldn't put it past the brand to put a real banger in this box

 Now Vizio tells me it uses DSP triggered by a gyroscope to alter the sound curve so it sounds right. And I'm curious how well that will work to keep the clarity going. Now it's worth noting that there are no dedicated upfiring Atmos drivers in here. Any Atmos effect is going to have to be virtual

 And built into the soundbar are indeed six speakers and two passive radiators, two tweeters and two mid-range drivers firing from right here, and two subwoofers and passive bass radiators up here. Of course, that's if you put the soundbar down in front of a TV like this. If you wall mount it, it changes the orientation so that the mid-range drivers and tweeters are facing sort of up at an angle. That's kind of interesting

Vizio M-Series All in One Soundbar | Amazing, but ...

 I'm an audio engineer, and so I'm used to critical listening. I swear I'm hearing some audio compression taking place that isn't in the original audio. It is especially apparent in material that contains sudden bursts of sounds, like guns or explosions, but once I hear it, I start noticing it everywhere. For example, the ambient noise in a movie, like night time crickets, will become almost nonexistent during dialog and then slowly fade back in if the dialog stops for a second or two

Everything is pretty right on with this unit.  I gave it four stars because I think there's some audio processing taking place that takes away from the original program mix. I'm an audio engineer, and so I'm used to critical listening. I swear I'm hearing some audio compression taking place that isn't in the original audio

  Most people won't notice it, but if you're prone to fixate on sounds like I am, it may drive you a little crazy sometimes, especially when you're trying to relax and enjoy a movie.  Other than that, it's pretty good. It's got some great low end, and a nice stereo spread. You'd do well with a sub because the low end isn't dialed in tight, but it's definitely an upgrade from TV speakers or the computer desktop speakers we were using before

 Not sure if it's something that I'm doing or not doing that's causing this but yeah. When connecting through Bluetooth with my phone its generally fine. I would give 'value for money' a five star but I paid about $145usd in shipping (could have saved so much if amazon australia had it) even though all together its not too bad compared to what I would have to pay here in NZ for a similar product.

There is definitely a difference between my standard tv speaker quality and this sound bar. The sound is much less grainy and bass/effects is wayy better when watching movies but I would say dialogue is average. One annoying issue I had is with the connectivity. I quite regularly have to restart my tv for the sound bar to connect to my tv when I turn my tv on again after a session of use

This is a nice little sound bar, but it cannot compete with some other more powerful sound bar from some or samsung, seeing how small the sub is. This would be a good sound bar for a small space or bedroom, but not a large living room or a cinema room. The sound quality is good and the added dolby surround sound is a plus. I wish they used metal grill on the sound bar and subwoofer instead of the cheap looking cloth, the cloth will also gather dust over time

 definitely has some oomph to it. I find myself getting lost into shows and movies the sounds just grabs me. Music sounds great not overly based. Just the right tempo

It's a solid sound bar, I literally plugged it all in and turned it on and that was all the set up required for it so that was pretty nice, ive had it for about 2 months now and haven't had any Bluetooth issues or lag, and the surround sound part sounds great so no complaints here
