A volkl kendo on the other hand could be a good choice. It has a similar construction as the mantra but it’s a lot more forgiving and open to cruising. A couple of other skis to consider are the skinnier skis in the line sick day collection and the Salomon qst series. So the sick day 88 and 92 and the qst 92.

They are apparently easy to ski, so ideal for you, but will be still fun as you regain your form and technique. For even more racy, on piste focus but still all mountain capable the Volkl kendo and mantra skis. And there's the all time classic, the rossignol experience family of skis with the 88 wodth being the most known for the type of skiing you describe.
