Vollrath 47935 (India) vs “heavy weight” 69050 (USA) stainless steel mixing bowls. Both of these are probably BIFL. More in comments.

 Assuming it continues to hold up, its weight is actually a huge plus because it really is insanely light. I'd recommend the bowl but don't be surprised when it arrives and feels like a feather was delivered!

Feels flimsier than I expected, but seems to hold up.

While we are on the topic of chunks of steel that will never get worn out, Vollrath mixing bowls (the made in USA heavy duty line, not the Chinesium economy line) are the best I've seen.

Stainless steel measuring cups and spoons from Lee Valley Tools. My parents have been using theirs for 25 yrs and I've had my own set for about 10 yrs.

These are very nice, they're not "THIN" like all the low star reviewers are mentioning. Either that OR their standard of THIN is quite high. They are certainly thin enough that they are LIGHTWEIGHT but NOT so thin that I bet the reviewers who mentioned how thin they are can't even bend the bowl even if they tried.  I'm no bodybuilder but I can bench 250lb so my chest strength is stronger than most (compared to people who don't work out)

 That's a different style mixing bowl, this Volrath mixing bowl is meant for all size individuals where as DEEP mixing bowls, shorter people have a tough time with it.

NOT so THIN,  but THIN enough

  A bonus is that I can put this bowl upside down over the banneton while proofing so the dough won't dry out.  It cleans up very easily.  I only knock is I wish it were a little bit heavier. Since it is so lightweight, it tends to slide around on the counter while folding

You need to develop a technique to deal with this by holding the dough with one hand and stretching it with the other. Once you have mastered this, it works well
