Voron 2.4

I got the kit and it took me a few leisurely evenings to assemble. After that, it's just been printing, PETG on the textured plate, and PLA on the smooth plate. PETG is a great material for functional, structural prints if they don't heat up beyond 80 degress C or so. My next move will be a CoreXY printer like the Voron 2.4, or a Ratrig V3, but no rush yet to get something faster and better.

now, I recently built my Voron 2.4 (250^3) and have had my Mk3s for a few years, so here's what I have noticed so far:. * The Prusa was easier to build than the Voron and was a very detailed kit and instructions, while the Voron requires self-sourcing parts, doing your own wiring (including crimping plugs), and the instructions are much less detailed as it's assumed that you already know the basics of how to build/work on a 3D printer (it's not recommended to build a Voron as your first), but there are a TON of videos out there covering the build process and getting into at least some of the details. * The Prusa was cheaper to build than the Voron and there's an option to buy one pre-built, while the Voron has a few (unofficial) kits, but it's really on you to gather all the parts and build it yourself spending as much or as little as you're willing to on the parts.

Kids will want to use it for creative projects, models, and things I don't know about yet. **Additional info**: I've looked at the Voron 2.4 project and it looks amazing, but I think it's too much 3d printer for a beginner, specifically cost and build. I think the right plan for me would be to have a good starter printer, see how useful I find it and then invest in something with more capability.

Also not a great deal when they get the printer, revo hotend, dryer, enclosure, webcam, and the pi3. The pi is on shortage right now and the revo is around 100 dollars. Personally I would try to get a Voron 2.4. By putting the printer together you will know when things go wrong and how to fix it.

Voron 2.4 goes up to 350, and an extra 50mm is not enough of a differentiating factor to make it worthwhile competing with Voron which is an amazingly good design. Almost everyone wants a larger format printer at a reasonable price, but it has to be larger than what's generally available otherwise what's the point?.

I’ve been researching and learning for the last few weeks, it seems voron 2.4 is a really good one. Have to build it from the ground up though. It’s open source and kits you have to find yourself OR self source what they provide you on the list for the bed size and options you’d like. It’ll be my first, but have a look into the voron, the community seems amazing too; plenty information online also, so pretty good.
