 Now when you're looking at a pellet grill, like this one, there's their cooking grids measured in at 6mm thick. Now for a pellet grill, that's perfectly fine. If you were comparing it against the grids of a charcoal grill or a gas grill, it would seem probably a little wimpy I would think, because those are just generally beefier, they have a lot more direct flame contact. But again, 6mm for cooking grids on a pellet grill, perfectly fine

 Another thing that I consider a feature is that it has a very large grilling surface as well as a secondary very large cooking rack up top and another feature really especially in the pellet market is that the bottom cooking grids or the main cooking area has direct flame access and not every pellet grill has that matter of fact that's actually kind of top tier as far as you know something you're looking for in a pellet grill. I think that's pretty cool especially since it also does low and slow as we talked about earlier. To the back of the grill the Smokefire comes with a 20 pound capacity pellet hopper and you know and I like we talked about earlier whether or not the capacity and the way that it functions is an issue for a certain type of cookout I didn't really have any issues with it I don't I don't really see any or foresee any that's just my take on it. There's also a rear trap door to the back of the pellet hopper to release your the pellets that you have in there if you want to change the flavor or the type or whatever you're able to pull the little chute drop them out close the chute back reload and you're good to go

 The Smokefire also comes with a 304 stainless steel side shelf for prep and holding pans and other things like that and it also on the front of it there are two hanging knobs for your drilling accessories. Now for a quick recap in the quality section the Weber Smokefire has 304 stainless steel flavorizer bars accent pieces as well as the front handle and the operating system itself which is involved with the Weber Connect is powered by the June operating system and that's top notch as far as performance goes the grill itself rocks steady all night long for low and slow I didn't have any problems at eight and a half hours never really even having to check it stayed the same temperature and that's low and slow but at the same time the grill has direct flame access and will get all the way up to 600 degrees pretty good performance as far as I'm concerned especially as far as pellet grills go not to mention just about any grill 600 not too bad as far as features go it's going to be kind of hard to wrap these up into a recap because there's quite a few of them but I'll pick out some of my favorites definitely one of my top favorites is the June operating system I love how that performs and the base to that and how well that is sort of fleshed out good stuff definitely a lot of good things to come I would think with updates and other things for the app and for the grill the Weber Connect app also in the features department good stuff the smoke fire also has a 20 pound capacity pellet hopper which is nice as well as the pullout ash pan grease management system all solid features thank you for watching I hope that you found our overview on Weber's smoke fire grill informative I hope that you'll check back often to see our latest content and if you really like us maybe even hit the subscribe or like button we really appreciate that catch you next time

Is anyone aware of any pellet grills made in Canada, US or Mexico other than Yoder? When I make a large purchase, I like to explore North American options. I found Yoder but they are quite expensive - beyond the typically increase for an American made product. I really like the GMG products but would like to see if there are any options not made in China before I pull the trigger.

 Flame it up. That's what I want because I want these to sear. These are pork tenderloin, so there's not a whole lot of fat on them. There you go

 All right all, I'm going to give you my rundown on this thing so far. We're just heating it up, searing, cooking on it for the first time, rutting. Works really well. I have no issues with it whatsoever so far

 This is a generation two, so we're going to take a look at this and see all the great things about it. I'll be right back. All right guys, if you're not familiar with this particular grill, the Weber SmokeFire pellet grills, these are the first pellet grills that Weber has produced, and they came out, oh I want to say, a year and a half, two years ago when they first released this to big fanfare. They had a bunch of YouTubers come in and look at them, a bunch of other famous grill people, and look at them in the home office up in Illinois, and everybody gave it great reviews from what they saw in the initial demos of the grills that they had up there at headquarters

So I’m finally going to buy a new grill.  I’ve settled on pellet grills in the $1200-$1400 price range.

My brain keeps taking me to the Traeger for whatever reason and I could use some help in choosing.

Anyone with experience with multiples of these that can weigh in.  Or your thoughts on each for their pros and cons.

 All right, guys, I just wanted to show you, we're still getting up to temp here, but look at those sparks and that ash flying around. That is a concern for me because you have those sparks flying around. If you're not very diligent in cleaning out your pit and you're not getting the grease out of there, that's easily a grease fire hazard. So this is a cooker that you're going to have to maintain and make sure you keep clean

 I like the idea of a hidden grease catch, but I'm not a huge fan of this set up and I'm going to get you in so you can kind of see what I'm talking about here. So right here are those two holes where those go in. Not a huge fan of that, but like I said, I'm going to be open minded, see how this works. Back here, this is our temp probe

 It went from 300 to 400 probably in about a minute, minute and a half, so that's really nice. So I'm just going to let this thing go for another half hour, 45 minutes and call it good and yeah, just come back when it's time to shut it down. So we'll see you guys then. Alright guys, so this Weber Smokefire EX6 has been running at 400 degrees for about another 30 minutes
