 No matter what I do, I cannot seem to get the seal to close all the way around, which results in a great amount of frost inside the freezer. I discovered the problem within 24 hours of plugging the freezer in and found the issue to the be the seal along the bottom. For a while I thought I had the problem solved after pulling everything out, defrosting, and making sure the inside was completely dry, but within a matter of days the issue was back again. I'm putting up with this for the time being, but sooner or later I'm going to have to do something about the seal

 I brought it back in the house and let it sit unplugged for 24 hours to allow any bubbles in the coolant to dissipate. I then plugged it back in and 24 hours after that opened it to find it frost free except for a slight surface film which was probably due to moisture in the freezer when I closed it back up. Since that time (about 10 days) I've had food back in the freezer and it continues to remain frost free.  To sum it up, the freezer does work as it should, when it's put together properly

If I have a large freezer I will eventually fill it and half or more of it's contents will wind up waste, due to freezer burn and or simply AGE! The unit itself looks very nice. The lock is an Allen wrench type lock and probably can be compremised by an Allen wrench of equal size, so, I will be purchasing an after market lock as well, just to be safe

Just arrived

 Before I plugged it in I contacted Amazon to let them know of my situation and to inform them. They wanted nothing to do with it and refused the return because of the refridgerant in the freezer. Kyle, the supervisor at Amazon kept me going in circles with his "Standard" script answers about sending pictures to them but he made no offer as to what they would do with the pictures and what they would do do correct the problem. I ended the conversation with no help or satisfaction

 However, I have a small home, and the humming/buzzing is loud enough that I can hear it from neighboring rooms.  If I don't get used to the noise soon, I may end up moving it into my garage. Other than the noise, the freezer is functioning properly so far and mine arrived without any physical damage.

Reasonable Capacity for the Size.

 ...but no matter what I do, it will not consistently shut and seal if left patially open

 When i come home from a long night at work, grab something from here, and shove the door, i expect it to shut. Because you have to recline it so sharply, i do not recommend this for tight spaces. Because you have to physically push the door all the way shut, I do not recommend it to people accustomed to quality engineered freezers.

 Maybe the thermostat would control this? The temperature control dial has been set to the maximum, [6]. Also the compressor has rust spots in a few areas, and is hot to the touch. I wonder if Whynter is using a good quality compressor? Update: (about the compressor tends to stay on.) -If the thermostat dial is turned down lower, from the maxium [6], the compressor does not stay on continuously
