 So Basically, it's helping to try and get this iron to To perform as well as it can for the type of player it's aimed at so that lower handicap golf or someone who's going to strike The middle of the face more often than they miss it But also this really beautiful muscle back kind of look and feel to the iron as well So we're expecting this to feel quite solid which, you know Many better ball strikers want that more solid feel rather than that really buttery softness that we see in some forgings that we get out there I'm certainly in the camp where I want it to feel a bit firmer when I hit it Because I want that bit more feedback and a bit more feel when I'm playing So we are about to put these to the test in the performance center here I'm going to hit them alongside the v6 iron which it's replaced as well and really show you exactly how they perform So let me show you exactly how they perform So So A little bit of a look at the performance Now I've also hit some shots with the staff model blade just to show you exactly how that performed as well But certainly when we look at the v6 compared to the cb we can see the the overall kind of carries and total distances are pretty similar We're getting a little bit more spin with staff model cb It's ever so slightly higher flight and certainly blends that little bit better with the staff model blade when we look at it there as well So pretty much the same height that we're getting pretty much the same distance as well So look just looking at the numbers here. We would say is there any difference? Well, no, not really but let me tell you when i'm hitting them the v6 iron feels Much harsher off the face and what I mean by that is when I don't hit the middle it hurts and um Um, I hit one particularly thin one when I was hitting it there and my fingers are still ringing now from the strike So so yeah the the difference in the staff model cb and blade that I found when hitting them Is that those off-center hits don't feel quite as punishing. It's not that they feel softer It's just that they don't feel quite as harsh really off the face. So so the um The strikes just you know Whether you hit them out the out the toe or the heel kind of feel a little bit more like a centered strike does Whereas in the v6 when you didn't hit the middle of the face My god, did you know about it? And like I say my fingers still know about it, but um We can see there in both staff model cb and staff model blade that we're getting that slightly higher flight Um, the spin is that little bit higher as well Um, which is going to help you to stop the ball on the greens a little bit more as well Like you say we can see here that i've swung it pretty much the same speed with them all i'm getting pretty much the same um ball speed with them all you know, they're within a mile an hour of each other The spins like I say are a little bit higher with the blade and the cb But in terms of carry we're going 179 180 pretty much across the board and mid 180 total distance Which which is good for a 7

 We can see there's three kind of prongs coming from the back of the head all pointing to the middle of the club head now That's helping to get more energy into the center of the club head for strikes Which a player using a golf club like this is going to hit the middle of the face more often than not But we still do need a little bit of forgiveness as well. And certainly when we look at The back of the club head here. We can see this little kind of duller section here It's not quite as chromed up as the rest of it. And this is where we've got 20 grams of tungsten in the mid and longer irons to really help with the Stability of the golf club and get the CG down a little bit get these irons launching kind of all in the same Shot window which a player of the quality that's going to be using these irons is going to need that consistency all the way through there Now it's 8620 carbon steel that the face is made of so it's going to feel Really really nice when we hit it It's also got plenty of technology within the head here with this kind of impact mass area here

We test out the Wilson Staff Mode CB Irons which were announced at the end of 2020 ready for the 2021 season. The forged Wilson CB irons have been inspired by the Wilson V6 irons but featuring enhancments and updates to provide a slightly more forgiving iron. Most Underrated Brand

 It's not that they're short irons by any stress of the imagination I hit the same stock shots as I pretty much have always hit I Hit an 8 iron 155 160 sometimes 150 depending on the conditions But 150 to 160 for an 8 iron I've been hitting that comfortably for five years, and I'm totally cool with that because what I'm looking for with these irons Is not additional distance I don't need that and if you're a better player you are probably happy with the distance that you hit your clubs because you hit Them consistently I don't like getting into game improvement clubs because particularly how to hollow body irons Because you can get a lot of flyers you can hit a 7 iron 160 or 200 if you nuke it and While that sounds cool in concept if you go 30 yards long of your target and a lot of places That's dead. You're making double or worse, and I don't want that I want irons that go a tight range every time out these do that that makes me very happy It was a little awkward to get rid of a 3 iron because I have a 2 hybrid So I lost a 3 iron which I had in the Mizuno's but on the other end actually gained a gap wedge So the set came for iron to gap wedge, and it's a 50 degree gap wedge the pitching wedge is 46 degrees So you're looking a little bit more classical Understanding of lofts a good gap between each of the irons, so they are distinctively on their own 10 to 15 yard gaps is what I love I can achieve that with this the gap wedge at 50 I really actually quite liked They've had it in the c300 irons, which I've used and initially I didn't really like it as much because I had a 52 degree wedge But over time I've felt confidence hitting this anywhere from 100 and 110 yards depending on the conditions I like to hit my pitching wedge 125 or so and For years with the Mizuno's I struggled from this mystery range of 100 to 115 yards Do I try to step on a 52 to try to take down a pitching wedge now with this gap wedge? I've got that and I like it I feel comfortable with it And I don't know that I would go again into a set without having that 50 degree available So I'm very happy with that and so this is a great set. It's a thousand dollars You get again get four iron through gap wedges your sock You can add clubs to it with the 2 iron and the 3 iron if you want to get into that Most people aren't gonna do that. Let's be realistic Most people watching this review are probably going starting at 6 iron getting through gap wedge And then you're gonna try to find a couple hybrids those options are all available to you If you are a golfer who likes irons that go the same distance almost every time Then this is where you want to be This is what you want to start thinking about you don't want to be thinking about irons that Could give you a fly or a lie and go 20 yards deep that you might hit just right and goes way too far but that is not what a better player should want and if you can find something that you can dial in like these and Know standing over any shot that if you hit it and execute it properly Even close to properly you're gonna get to your target and it's gonna work out for you

 These are the kinds of irons. I can game for years at a time Wear them out and absolutely love them So if you're looking for this kind of iron if you are a better player Who's looking for just a little bit of technology not too much and a consistent iron that looks good and feels great I highly recommend looking at the Wilson golf staff model CB irons That's gonna do it for us on this review.  We always know we can knock these flights down, but this is 7 iron, 34 degrees. So it is going to be an easier one to fly. Oh, wow, very solid, very stable. That's probably the good word there from those first two shots

 As I said, V6, I thought was an absolutely stunning iron, staff model blade, sensational. I think this is obviously just a really nice sort of follow on from there for that golf who just wants that little bit more tech in there with his tungsten. We've got 20 gram tungsten weight in this bottom section here, which is positioning those long to mid irons. So just pulling that weight a little bit more sort of down in that club face, but ultimately creating a little bit more stability on those slight mishits
