I have seen ones that have lasted for 10 years and counting if you just put great care into them. But I think it’s probably because they have fewer moving parts and this is probably why I’m probably going to buy a robot vacuum that’s really high-end and try to keep it running as long as possible.

My budget is flexible at around $500-$700, and I'd rather spend more of it if it means obtaining something that works. While I don't anticipate one of these to completely replace traditional techniques, I do see it as a useful complement to assist maintain in the meantime!

So maybe all those added features like connecting to the internet or those advanced mapping won’t be a need (but can be nice to have at least). But I have heard that they’re more prone to failure or a lot more fragile which might defeat the purpose of making it at least long term.

Robot Vacuum that's good for long-term use?

 I changed my rating from its original, 2 star, to 3 star review because it still is working, suction seems to be good still and the app is still working good and is user friendly.  Nov: 29 21 original post- I kow it's probably not best to intervein, but my goodness. After it mapped out my house, it said - cleaning complete .

 I'm worried, and leaning towards returning and finding something else.  1/9/22 ‐Updated post‐ still using it because it dies clean well and the making features are pretty useful. The choice to clean an area '2x' is good with kids because the vacuum will clean the room and I can slide highchairs or whatever might be on the floor in a sifferent spot so it can go and clean those areas the second time around . It still does have a had times getting ti its base sometimes, like 3 out of 10 times its really obvious

 The artery life has drastically declined and is not linger able to clean my main areas twice, as it did originally, but it is still cleaning. Also, for some reason when it empties itself the right side of the canister doesn't get cleared well. It still has issues finding its charging base half, or more, of the time. But it still is working and cleaning

This yeedi Vac Station Robot Vacuum/ Mop is a great unit. It has a camera sensor that maps the room well as long as it is light, can't do it in the dark. It has lots of sensors that work well so it rarely gets stuck. The vacuum and mop work very well, strong suction, good mop pad for light dusting, suctions while it mops

Great robot for one floor, not for two stories

The Yeedi Vac is really a great budget buy. Beats out the E4 in my testing by being much more maneuverable and independent (less prone to getting stuck or tangled and better able to cross large thresholds and carpet/rug lips), with great suction power on carpet.

One thing that I would like with it is the mopping feature; while I know it isn't meant to deep clean, done regularly by the bot, we would not have to mop every single week hopefully.
So far, my main options is either the dreametech d9 or the roborock e4 (s5 max is just outside the budget). I am inclined towards the d9 right now for the lidar navigation, it is slightly more that the roborock but I feel the lidar is a major upgrade.
Any first hand experience or alternatives?

Another 'help deciding' thread

 Sometimes, it doesn't clean every single area that it usually does and if the lighting is dim, can't seem to find its away around since the camera is on the main top of the unit.  The good: it is pretty quiet except for when it detects a rug, then the suction increases as does the sound. I love that it self-empties and that the bag only needs replaced about once every 30 days. The mopping feature is also nice

New to Robot Vacs and Have Some Questions

I have been using this product for 5 days - I've had to clean it out 2x. It absolutely cannot handle dog hair - I have 2 germans - the dust cup cannot handle the hair. The hair gets stuck on the brush - this product requires constant cleaning. Yes, it maps house well

 It only wet mops/water. It is louder than my shark - which last about 2 years w/the constant dog hair clean up - I'm ready to throw this product away after 5 days. You can control level of water spray and level of vac suction which probably decreases sound. If I did not have the dog hair issue, I think this product would work well
