Apple HomePod mini vs Marshall Uxbridge Voice

I've had sporadic success getting the lock to pair by instead adding it through the Home app and *then* viewing its HomeKit settings in the August app. When I'm able to get this far, the lock state seems to be successfully communicated to the Home app (sends notifications when locking, unlocking, etc).

So if you have Apple devices and use Apple products, this is a no brainer. If you’re married to Amazon Alexa (and by extension Spotify)…eh. It’s still good. But the software running this smart speaker isn’t the smartest

Raising and lowering the volume with bass boosted on this track gives you a strong sense of the DSP’s grip on the mix—at lower volume levels, the bass sounds full, almost overwhelming things, while at higher volumes, the bass thins out substantially. The vocals on this track are delivered with solid clarity—there’s no added sibilance despite a solid high-mid and high frequency presence.

You're probably looking at this bluetooth speaker the same way I did -the namesake, the aesthetics and, well, the namesake. Let me save you some trouble -if aesthetics is at the top of your list, then it's a pretty cool looking bluetooth speaker. Some of the others look a bit cheap and clunky so I get it. I personally wanted something that would look nice on my desk and could play loud a- music with above average sound quality while I'm doing chores

This was a gift for my wife and she couldn’t get it set up without my help. The Marshall app AND the Alexa App are both required, not optional. Just suck it up and do that. Alexa is actually linked through the Marshall App which was a little confusing because the setup didn’t happen for me seamlessly

It produces a more punchy bass to me than the HomePod Mini. Now, when turned up to max volume, the HomePod Mini doesn't seem to produce any distortion...

It's a little less than a lunch-box size speaker. It doesn't have a baterry of its own (as you may have read within the description). It packs a sweet sweet bass and teble sound. You can FEEL the drums and voices

11n Wi-Fi. Of course, the speaker also works with Apple AirPlay 2, so you can stream directly from Apple devices. There’s no physical connectivity here, however, like an aux input.

If you read up on the SDK, they were just greedy and lazy. Additional features carry guidelines and requirements from Amazon so Marshall did the absolute minimum they had to so they could put the Alexa branding on their products. Pros: #1: The Bluetooth connectivity worked without issue for me. To be fair, I didn’t go far from the device with my iPhone 13 pro max

It’s clear that Apple designed this to complement the larger HomePod. If you have an original in your living room, you can put the mini in various other places in your home without having to invest as much money or take up as much shelf space.

The main reason I bought this was the mini amp design. I bought the white version and it has a classy cool factor.
