If I were to need it in a self defense situation, however, I'd start running before I even thought about it in my pocket. The spring bar mechanism they say helps it stay open also makes it hard to open from both a closed position and catches the blade at ~70 degree orientation from the handle. 4/5 for utility as its a great blade, but 2/5 for defense/emergencies.

The only other downside is the blade will move side to side not loose but because the material the handle is made out of is somewhat flexible could be fixed with a metal reinforced handle but for keeping cost down it is acceptable. The handle you have to put some force in to get it to bend like I stated so not a huge deal. All in all I'm happy with the purchase and is a great deal for the under $100 mark just expect to have to sharpen it up a bit.

Can be disassembled for cleaning, repair, or periodic, preventive servicing w/o need for proprietary tools then GUARDIAN is worth looking into. Especially the ‘Recon Elite’. In my experience this is one of the most versatile knives available. Reasonable cost makes it almost unbelievable

Item as described. American made. Knife is a good larger pocket/work knife and at the price, you won't cry if it becomes lost. No problems here
