Granite Gear Crown 2: Hands on Review.

 Let's get deep into it. Alright now in this part of the video I Want to pack this pack with everything that I normally carry on a weekend trip. My base weight. no real food but I'm gonna throw some water in here just to feel the weight of it

 This is a size regular so it goes a 18 to 21 centimeter back fitting but that's pretty. That's a that's a wide spectrum but I've never had a problem fitting in this pack and I'm a tall guy my son as well, he's wore it and he has no problem with it too. But it does have these load stabilizing straps here once you get it on to kind of bring it and have it tuck into your body. These dual density foam shoulder straps are great

 So my final thoughts on this pack is that it's well built. It's large enough to take all my gear that I would take on an extended weekend maybe even a week I don't know the food would fit or not, but what I like about this size is that it forces you to stay under 25 pounds like I would I would by having this pack I wouldn't be just throwing stuff in like I would just say well I'm just gonna take this hammock at the last minute. No, it would resist I would resist that type of thing and stay light which would be kind of cool. So I'm interested to see what you think about this 38 litre coming out in 2018, which is a really, really great option for people who like to go lighter

Granite Gear Crown2 38L (New 2018 Backpacking Gear) Review

My biggest gripe is the 6 side compression straps and the water bottle pockets. None of the straps are long enough to attach a foam pad to the outside when it is fully stuffed (except over the top, which I often do not like to do). Also, once fully stuffed the water bottle pockets are useless.

Needs some work but overall good

 The flip top compartment can also be removed if you don't want to use it. The shoulder straps and hip belt are very comfortable and all the straps can be easily adjusted so you can dial it up just how you want it. Another really cool feature is the hip belt. You can easily make it larger or smaller for a custom fit to your waist

 There's five compartments in all which includes the two side pockets. Seven if you count the hip pockets. The flip top compartment can also be removed if you don't want to use it. The shoulder straps and hip belt are very comfortable and all the straps can be easily adjusted so you can dial it up just how you want it

I outgrew my Camelbak Fourteener when it came to doing the longer day hikes. Needed the extra room for packing extra layers, more liters of water, etc. The Crown 2 38 has more than enough room for the extra stuff I like to take with me.

Great All-Around Backpack

 The build quality is superior. Everything from the fabric, to the straps, the stitching, and the zippers is very high quality. All have held up exceptionally to heavy abuse. 3

I’ve tried this for 250ish miles and can never get the right fit.  There r other small things wrong like the side pockets and shoulder straps / pads, but there r tons good too.  Talked to PCT thru hiker on last section and she loves hers and has 2500 miles.  It’s gotta fit and both of agreed that with this pack under 30 pounds is necessary

It just does not fit me

 With all of that being said, folks, let's go ahead, let's get to it. There's a lot to go over. To begin the review, let's start with stats concerning this backpack. There's a lot to go over and I will be as brief as possible

 So you have the sternum strap and you have the buckle right here that it clips into. The issue is is that oftentimes you will find that for some reason, this buckle does not clip into this one easily. I've spent seconds fooling around with this to get it to fit and so is Susan. So it's an issue on both the men's version and the female version

 For now, let's take a look at this backpack and go over the features of this. First off, you have this lid. here. This is fully removable

 Now let's talk about the sternum strap. This is a weird little issue with this pack, but it's one that I've had and Susan's had as well. So you have the sternum strap and you have the buckle right here that it clips into. The issue is is that oftentimes you will find that for some reason, this buckle does not clip into this one easily

 So say you're at base camp and you want to go just for a nice hike for maybe a 3/4 mile hike to check out some big view or to go get some water. That type of thing you don't want to take your whole pack. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna take my brain off which normally people will take these off and they'll convert them or they'll convert naturally into a waist belt like the Nimbus does. It actually has straps for it, but the crown too doesn't come with that

 I like these Outdoor Research I Did a review on these two. You can check these out on the top right there. This is my really old one, my original, my newer one. I Lent it to a buddy who's going backpacking this weekend to try it out, but I think this is a great option if you've already got a crown and you're thinking hey man I want to go for day hikes as well

 This larger size allows me to hold more things like gum, chapstick, wallet, shades, and my small traveling cologne bottles. Rather stylish. Only blemish on my particular product was the stitching on my main zipper was shortened so the flap that’s meant to cover the zipper does not properly sit flush to the bag to hide the zipper. Minor defect but Herschel always delivers

Good looking bag but only one issue

 I wanted to be completely decked out in Dodger Blue plus travel light to the game! I was not only getting praised by Dodger fans but by Giant fans too (shockingly). The size is PERFECT to fit everything I needed to take with me including cell, keys, cards, cash and lip gloss. Overall, so happy with my purchase!

Only used it for 2 days and stitches already started breaking where the belt meets the bag, I can’t believe it is this low quality in durability, I had seen similar reviews but was shocked that it broke in 2 days. Definitely a stay away product.

Incredibly stiff!

The material is good and it seems to be well manufactured. As other reviewers already noted, the zipper is hard to move (probably to keep the bag waterproof?) and the extra belt part hangs off weirdly. I will probably cut it as another reviewer suggested. So far, I have only used it for short fieldwork

 because it holds so much, it’s bigger than i anticipated although i did know it would be on the bigger size. i wasn’t disappointed at all but i am a small person, a 4’9 adult, so this may end up looking really weird on me because it’s big but it does fit around my waist and i have a 25/26 waist. overall, i can’t complain about the spaciousness. i’d rather have more room to spare than struggling to fit my belongings

 i’m going on a trip to San Diego and thought this would be perfect for all the walking around we have planned. as i was packing this to make sure i have everything i’ll need, i realized just how much space there is. this fanny pack can fit a lot! so far i have my go pro, extra batteries, my sunglasses case, hand sanitizer, sunscreen and still a good amount of room to spare for extra stuff. the front pocket is perfect for cash/cards if you’re comfortable using it for that

I bought a black Fifteen I think that was black and puffed about a month ago and love it. Feels like such great quality but a little small for everything I need to carry with me on longer outings. I kept it because it's such a great looking, quality bag.  Ordered this one to have one a bit bigger to fit needed medical supplies on longer outings and when I opened it today, it was hard to believe it was the same company that made this bag
