I'm 6'4" and deep in dad bod territory. Most backpacks are not proportional to my torso. I've used a messenger bag for work for some time, but am returning to school this fall and would prefer to go back to backpacking around campus.

Some of the designs from Topo Designs have caught my eye, even if they are marketed as travel bags rather than for daily use (such as [this](https://topodesigns.com/products/convertible-travel-bag-laptop-backpack-30l?variant=40136110899253)). I also need something that can hold a 15 inch laptop.

Suggestions for other brands or models that suit us bigger-bodied folk are appreciated. Or if you have experience with one of these travel bags from Topo. Thanks!

That is the North Face gesture backpack, it's got huge capacity, it's got a lot of organization, it's made of good materials and it also sits at a relatively accessible price as well good for uni students good for on-campus things like that. If you're interested in getting a just a backpack be sure to check the release date of this video to make sure that you're, looking at the most up-to-date backpack North Face, tends to do iterations little tweaks to upgrade and refine their backpacks

 We have the North Faces flex vent suspension system, which includes a heavily padded and mesh back panel, heavily padded, a mesh shoulder straps with custom injection, molded foam for extra ergonomics and comfort and the center air channel for added breathability. Considering that the Backpacker consists of 2 packs joined together, it is important to distinguish between the comfort of each one since they are very different offerings in size and use cases.

The 45L Mainpack is a different beast altogether. Designed to hold all of your stuff for long-term travel and extended adventures, saying that the pack is big would be putting it lightly. Frankly, I was a bit concerned about the comfort of the Mainpack especially with the Daypack attached (after all, it makes an already large bag gigantic). However, I’m happy to report that the design of the shoulder straps (which also feature load lifters), coupled with an excellent back panel, sternum strap, and a beefy waist belt make for a surprisingly comfortable carry, even over an extended period of time

 Frankly, I was a bit concerned about the comfort of the Mainpack especially with the Daypack attached (after all, it makes an already large bag gigantic). However, I’m happy to report that the design of the shoulder straps (which also feature load lifters), coupled with an excellent back panel, sternum strap, and a beefy waist belt make for a surprisingly comfortable carry, even over an extended period of time.

At 20L the Daypack is an excellent minimal EDC or carry-on bag, which features minimal aesthetic and a basic but more than sufficient harness system. Thanks to the moderately padded shoulder straps and the high-quality mesh used on the back panel for improved breathability, I had no issues with the comfort. My wife, who used the bag to carry parental essentials, also enjoyed the small and nimble profile of the Daypack and praised its overall comfort.

REVIEW: SALKAN BACKPACKER

I don't think it will be full, so maybe it could squish down into an overhead bin or under the seat? I definitely would like to have a carry on because unfortunately, I will have several connections and don't want to risk losing it. My only other backpack is a North Face Jester which I use for every day commuting to work. I think I would be able to fit everything if I packed wisely.

Looks good but holds only laptop and a few other things. Not big enough for books and school binders. disappointed.

Needs to be wider

 I don't believe they're Ykk I think they may be Sbs zippers and they're very smooth. It's easy to open the bag up, but they're almost too smooth, if that makes sense. So when you open the compartments, it can tend to kind of flop over because the zippers open up very easily. It's not a huge deal in my opinion

There is only one "big" compartment and one very small half-compartment on the front, so it's not possible to stay organized with all of the little things that kids need to carry to school these days. Not a good design

Nice looking backpack just not practical for a college student. It's not big enough to pack books in addition to laptop & any other items you may need for the day. The biggest issue was this is not in any way water resistant. College students are walking on campus rain or shine didn't realize there would be no protection at all & arrive to class with paper homework wet & an English book's pages all damp too

 It seems that anything larger than .5 liter bottles would be likely to fall out of these pockets, and the lack of compression straps means you can’t easily keep bigger ones secured.  Finally, the one thing I really wish was different on this backpack is the laptop sleeve design. Although my excessively large laptop can easily slide in and out of its sleeve, it seems strange to me that there’s not any protection for my laptop against rain or a leaky water bottle
