 The kansbol is double the price and came unsharpened, the machining is choppy looking on the brushed portion and the blade has surface scratches right out of the box. The surface scratches are fine because I'm going to be using the knife and it will get scratched any way but I wish the machining was cleaner. You can see the blade is meant to have a scandi-type grind but for some reason they attempted to put a microbevel on my edge. I say attempted because they only succeeded in rounding it off

Surprised by lack of QC

I have a quite few Moras and certainly didn't need any more but I had to give this one a shot for about $30. Fist thing is first. This Kansbol looks intimidating from the side but is actually quite anemic from the top. It tapers off to about a millimeter which does not instill confidence

 The Kansbol handle is rubberized as apposed to the harder plastic handle on the Garberg which makes drawing the blade a bit annoying with the stock belt loop. You need 2 hands to draw it. I tried it with the Garberg sheath with the same result. Hopefully it loosens with more use but I have been using a custom leather with it lately so I may never find out

A bit on the thin side but good all-around knife

 Seriously. The plastic feels cheap and the entire knife, including the sheath, weighs almost nothing. I honestly feel it looks like a toy G.I

Not Sure What to Think of It.

First, I really like the design of this knife. The handle fits my hand really well. I like the blade design. It came extremely sharp out of the box

 It locks into the sheath well. Cons: The big one is that the blade is coming out of the handle at an angle. It's not too bad and it doesn't bother me enough to send it back, but not the quality I expect from Mora. The belt loop on the sheath is also attached at a slight angle, where it should be straight up

Good but rough

 This knife isn't pretty nor is it something you're going to brag about. But it's a work-horse that I can have at ready-access anytime I need it. And for that, it's going to be my companion for the next year of trips.

My New Companion is a Kansbol

 I like it but I still wish it was like the others with the plastic clip. O like how you can clip em to your pocket or a button or belt. Whatever suits you. This sheath is nice tho with the frog attachment

I've been searching for years for a knife that had a handle that felt comfortable in my hand and nothing came collection this kansbol. It's not perfect but berry close. It feels good and handles good. My knife I noticed had a place in the belly that looked like it had been bumped against another knife

 It cost 33 dollars and change which is about my limit on knife prices but I think it was worth it. I don't think I'll live long enough to wear this kansbol out .   I've seen solutions like this, never on a $10 knife though.  As for the locking mechanism, I think they really hit the nail with this one, it happens automatically as the knob is spring loaded and you never have to think about it.  My advise, if you're an occasional user who's not relying on the knife for heavy duty work, buy it and you won't regret it.  If you're a pro user, there are other solutions out there that are sturdier and more efficient, but not for $10

Great Knife, Good buy - but...

Used one of these knives for a long while and bought a second on Amazon for a backup/lender unit. Right way noticed that the molded plastic blade holder on the new unit was loose but did not worry about it. First week on the job, the blade and plastic holder fell out on job somewhere, couldn't find it, $10 down the drain because too late to return. If your little black plastic blade holder doesn't click in sharp and tight, return right away

Sturdy, well-designed utility knife; Locking mechanism not for heavy-duty use.

This is definitely on the hefty side. I like that because it stays in the office and it makes it feel substantial in your hand. Depending on your use case this may be a negative. The deploy/retraction mechanism is smooth and solid
