Same here after my Corsair H100i started failing at one year.  Got a Noctua NH-D15 and not only is it outperforming the Corsair, it is much quieter.

After a second round of my pump going out...
both were coolermaster ML240. First was under warranty, second was just barely out.

I thought a simpler solution would be the old school heat-sink and fan set up (cheaper too)..like us old nerds used to use back in the stone ages of the 2010s.

I picked up a Noctua NH-U12S and its performance is better than the AIO ever was and superficially quieter because I got rid of the radiator and fans from the top of the case.

Unless you are doing some serious overclocking, I don't think most normal users need AIO at all for daily driving.

I know your Krakens are pretty fly looking, but from here on out, I'm rocking tan and brown.

I'm never going back to AIO

 I am not happy about buying an additional fan at $32 before tax and shipping. I think I should get a rebate for the $32 extra.

Little RAM clearance

  SO, starting later today I'm going to try out the infamously glitched game Kingdom Come: Deliverfance to feel for the heat difference, and I do believe Fallout 4 and GTA5 are in order as well. If after all that it has becoming apparent that your product is great at it's job I'll consider it $90 well spent, a nice thumbing of the nose to the liquid cooler-obsessed, and I'll also up your score from 4 to 5.  Well, look at what I did again.

 until this thing came along LOL. Actually, as I was looking through the very well organized set of compartments inside the main box I was VERY impressed by how well-made and well thought out this thing is. At the risk of sounding vague, what I mean by that is that it looks like it's made with quality parts by quality people. The instruction manual was extremely easy to follow, and I was delighted by how, at least for the most part, easy this cooler is to install

 I was thinking of going with a liquid cooling system, but there's no conclusive proof from anyone that it can cool any better than a well-executed fan/air system. You got your anecdotes from guys who swear up and down that their CPU runs 50 degrees cooler on their liquid system, but it's all anecdotal nonsense.  This cooler had me sorta attracted on a visual level from the start because of the fact that it's nice and plain looking. I've HAD IT UP TO HERE (!!) with all these computer components being covered top to bottom in lights and other nonsense; my main point there is that you're likely more about practicality than gimmick

Noctua NH-D15 works awesome on this CPU.  No need for AIO - I had a 8700k - NH-D15, and upgraded to the 12900k - NH-D15..   I probably wont do an AIO again

 So my first test to see how it would perform was with Autodesk 3DS Max. I fired up one of my render scenes. Previously running a HD render of a simulated model would make the H60 scream. I fired off my first render and watched the temps and kept an ear out for increase in sound and cooler load to the fans

No need to look any further. Buy it! Aces every category in performance, craftsmanship, and ease of installation.

 I had to use four credit cards to prop up each corner then rotate it back and forth until it finally gave way (was very worried during this step).  -I had to remove the GPU so there was room to work.  -I unscrewed the two top fans that were attached to the cooler's radiator, then screwed them back onto the inner top of the case (using eight thick fan screws from a previous build) and moved their power cable from the CPU Fan 1 header to the nearest System Fan header (just above the mobo's main power connector) and rerouted the power cable that was there back through the case and coming out near the bottom (right side).  -Only one of the two Noctua NH-D15 fans would fit due to the tall memory, but one seems to be enough

  So I purchased and installed this Noctua NH-D15 into my system and its amazing, idling at low 30's now and when playing games my temps are in the 40 or low 50's which is great because its been really hot out.  A couple of things to note:  -It helps to have the system on right before removing the cooler from the CPU as this loosens up the coolant paste. When doing slowly rotate it back and forth just a bit until it gives, DO NOT try to pry it upward or you risk damaging the CPU.  -Removing the MSI Mag CoreLiquid 240R was a nightmare due to all the cables and removing backplate which was attached with double sided tape (that you cannot see until the backplate is off)

 never buying MSI again, they wouldn't even honor the warranty because they wouldn't accept my address either even though I have FeEx and UPS deliver here to the Big Island of Hawaii all the time. Also, MSI's phone support is a joke and they were rude to top it off. The Noctua NH-D15 is a beast and puts overpriced watercooling to shame

 I will list specs at the end so you have a better idea of what I am working with here which is not your average system given its configuration.  On to the stress test - During a stress test with LinX, I put the fans on high and let it go. Finished in 4m 10s which is considerably fast with max core temps around the high 150 to low 160 deg Farenheit (low 70s deg Celsius). Average core temps fluctuated from the 60s to low 70s deg Celsius, 150s to 160s in def Farenheit

7 out of this cpu with 1.3 to 1.4 volts regularly with the max recommended temperatures of around 195 with a redline of approximately 205-210.  OCing to 4

 That's practically room temperature with all fans set on medium which probably matters only to a small degree. I believe that is a really good performance considering the high demands of my above average complexity system. I will list specs at the end so you have a better idea of what I am working with here which is not your average system given its configuration.  On to the stress test - During a stress test with LinX, I put the fans on high and let it go

Top of the Line Air Cooler

 I started this approach with the MSI MPG x570 Gaming Plus Wifi after breaking everything down and removing it from the case. What I discovered when putting it back into the Zalman X3, was it was very difficult to get it back in and then to screw back down the motherboard. That wasn't the worse part as that occurred with reconnecting the power connectors -especially the cpu connectors located at the top of the board. The cpu connectors at the top left of the board on the MSI were located right against the cooler fins and because of the narrow space between the fins and the top of the case, I struggled trying to get the connectors set, cutting my knuckles against the sharp fins while attempting this (there is some blood stains on the fins now

  I removed everything again and removed the board. MSI has a very thin pcb with a lot of flex and it bent under the weight of this cooler trying to lift in the case and back out. I immediately noticed that the cpu connectors were not seated fully so I tried to test the board outside of the case with the same results - shorting out at cpu initiation. Without anything installed the board would power up it was a short at the cpu power connectors

 I've always been iffy on AIOs. They've always promised better performance than air, but then I run my benchmarks and it turns out more like… sort of better performance in certain metrics as compared to air. But NZXT's latest AIO, the Kraken X53, handily stops that trend. Howdy howdy guys, Ponchato here, and today we're checking out the Kraken X53 Liquid Cooler provided by NZXT

5 degrees, and the Deepcool Assassin 3 by more than 2. When you're dealing with the highest end air coolers available, that is a significant difference in noise adjusted performance. Bravo to NZXT, this is very impressive. So the Kraken X53 is the strongest cooler I've tested and also the most noise efficient, both by a pretty big margin

NZXT Kraken X53: Changing My Mind About AIOs [FINALLY!]

 Considering a cheap cpu fan often benchmarks better than a lot of expensive aio’s… but worth the buy in my case (ha). Just makes your PC look even cooler (ha again).

 72 degrees is not the best in class, but not by a long shot, but it's already something. But what about that badly performing fan? Well, we have two possibilities right now. First, the fans are actually that bad and everything else is underperforming or everything is nicely balanced and you wouldn't get any performance out of this anyway. Well, it's pretty easy to find out

 You see, I do not own a Kraken X53 non-RGB, so the slightly older version. But to compensate that, I read the spec sheet of each and every previous version before I start with the new one. And there is one really big issue that I have with these fans here, because the original X53 comes with two Air P120 fans. So pressure optimized 2000 RPM fans that blow with 73 CFM at almost 3mm H2O

 We always redo all of our all-in-one benchmarks with a couple of Arctic P12s. First, we tested the original setup, so simply replace the air RGB with P12s and the X53 managed to get the CPU down a tiny bit more to 71 degrees C. Okay, okay, so the fans are not perfect, but how much can we actually squeeze out? With the all-in-one sandwich with twice the original fan amount, the X53 got the 7300X down to 70 degrees C. So from out of the box to completely sandwiched, we are looking at a mere 2 degrees C difference

NZXT Kraken X53 RGB Review | Best 240mm AIO ?

I bought this x53 to cool my Ryzen 9 5950x, which ran a bit hot. Before I bought this, my idle temps were around 55. After buying this product, my idle temps are around 32, and I haven't seen them go over 60 even when I run pretty demanding software (cyberpunk, Cinebench, etc.)

Great Cooler

 In case you do have an issue, contact NZXT support and they'll provide a usb hub that works as a workaround until they can roll out Krakens with the permanent fix built in or whatever.  One more thing to be aware of is that unlike what the manual says there are only 2 viable installation directions if you are planning on the screen facing right side up. It's true that there is a way to rotate the image through the NZXT CAM software but if it isn't installed in one of the aforementioned orientations then unfortunately it wont be able to rotate it to the correct orientation which seems like an odd limitation but it is what it is.  Okay so the performance of this cpu cooler is good, but I was honestly expecting just a bit more cooling efficiency from this latest pump design but it misses the mark by a non-insignificant amount
