This new version is slightly lighter than the previous model, updating the upper to include more mesh for improved breathability. But don't worry, the Speedcross 6 still offers a glove-like fit straight out of the box. We're fast approaching a decade of running in these shoes, and our heart only grows fonder for this beloved trail runner.
Despite our gushing, we still have a few criticisms of this specialty shoe. Our biggest carry-over complaint between the previous version and the Speedcross 6 is the overly-assertive and outdated drop design. With a thick heel counter and 10mm heel-to-toe drop, this shoe is particularly unstable when running downhill. Although the breathability has improved by tweaking the type of mesh over the instep and forefoot, the Speedcross is better deployed during the cold weather months or high-altitude runs through the mountains. On the flip side, with other, less supportive, and less comfortable shoes pushing into its weight class, we no longer complain about the heft of the Speedcross 6. There is no better option for those who like to run off-trail, over snowy mountains, through muddy river bottoms, and up steep, rocky crags.

  These shoes are amazing. love the laces and love the feel.  However, like knobby tires on a bike or car, these wear super fast on asphalt. As much as I like them, I feel reluctant to wear them on the street because they wear down so quickly

 Waterproofing looks good. The footbed is a bit narrower than I like for stability, but frankly if I were just to need a shoe for trail running on rugged trails, I'd run these for sure. Pretty good protection for toe/heel.

These type shoes are made to fit tight. Not length but around your foot. You need to tighten them down and they “lock” your foot in nicely and after a couple weeks they conformed to my foot. They feel very comfortable after what I assume was the break-in period

... probably too many! The tightness I mentioned really comes in handy running over uneven ground like rocks, mud, up and down steep inclines

 If they last like I expect them too I think the price although high is worth it. I will be doing many runs so if anything fails or my review changes for the worse I will update immediately. Thanks for reading and I hope it helps someone who is on the fence about these.

Trail runners best friend

The shoes are excellent in all but one respect: the ridged soles slip on wet rocks. Great fit, cushioning, construction, quick tie laces. All good EXCEPT: if you need to walk on rocks that are even a little wet or mossy, watch out. You will land in the drink

We love that the Peregrine is a rugged shoe that rides and looks more like a road shoe. It isn't quite as protective as other shoes that we tested, but it provides just enough to make it versatile. Because its rugged outsole and rock plate combine perfectly with its lightweight and responsiveness, we love wearing this shoe for all different types of trail runs. 
The list is pretty short when it comes to our list of grievances with the Peregrine 12. The narrow fit, much like a lot of Saucony's road running shoes, won't appeal to wide-footed runners. The base of support is pretty streamlined and might feel unstable if your feet are wider than the platform. The Peregrine also isn't the toughest shoe we tested, but it holds up to demands pretty well. Most of the protective elements are simply a bit more forgiving than those of shoes that are made for tougher, more technical trails. If you are looking for a well-tractioned and responsive trail shoe with enough comfort to get you through long runs, the Peregrine might be the perfect choice.

Why don't you tell me about this midsole, let's move down to the midsole now yeah, so this is, i believe, the exact same as last version power on midsole. That'S like their yeah standard, eva midsole um that you'll find in a lot of their. Would you almost say there's like a can bar for the trail yeah i mean that's pretty accurate

 They got going on yeah, it's it's overall, it's a pretty nice tongue situation. Now i will say with the upper is where a couple of our reviewers like really struggled with this shoe in performance wise as you can feel the collar here, it's pretty stiff and rigid. Saucony Peregrine 12 | Trail Shoe For The People | FULL REVIEW

 Let'S get into this thing, i talk about the things i like and dislike about every product. I review on this channel. These are no different, but start as always with the things that i like the grip. I think these things are incredible

 So not only are these lugs getting you that grip, but the outsole itself is providing just enough protection underfoot fit now. This is because of this new upper, so the upper's been redesigned. The welded overlays are pretty minimal, but they are in the right places for that protection across uh, the toe box, and things like that. The mesh is lighter, it's thinner, it's more breathable, but what i love is the mid foot, fit the lacing system and across the toe box it's a more precision fit, and i say that with a bit of an asterisk, because i don't think it's solomon precision fit Where sometimes that just doesn't work for people and tends to be a bit narrower, i do think that the peregrine 12 has a decent sized toe box a fit across the midfoot that locks your foot down and a really solid heel cup that locks your ankle in, As well, there's not an abundance of materials to make the fit cumbersome and there's not a reduced amount of materials to make it weak

 I'Ve already mentioned that a number of times in this review. So, let's just get more specific here in our breakdown, where we talk about the build comfort, fit price and looks starting as always with build quality. I mentioned the durability concerns i'm not running into that right now, but i do just based off of the upper materials sort of coming apart a little bit uh. It does give me a little bit of pause comfort

 I actually think the shoe's priced okay for what you get. I think it's a great uh entry level shoe a great shoe for people to add to their rotation of trail shoes if you're looking for like keeping a shoe for race day and that sort of thing, if you're, looking at training and logging lots of middle distance Miles this may not be that kick i think. 130 bucks is a pretty good price point. Uh

SAUCONY PEREGRINE 12 REVIEW | The Ginger Runner

 I haven't had an issue with that. It'S felt very comfortable for me, but i think some people were hoping for a deeper softer level of cushioning in the new peregrine. That'S obviously where the new exodus ultra will come in into the saucony lineup when it is released. So when it comes down to the new peregrine, we are fans here at run for adventure, so it is going to score a high performing super versatile 9 out of 10 for comfort and performance
