I recently decided to get a pair of Bose 35ii on Prime Day but after less than 48 hours decided they weren't for me because I was getting skin irritation around my ears. A quick search shows that others have also had sensitivity to the pads so I know I'm not completely crazy, just my sensitive skin.  Therefore, I'm looking for an alternative.

Lower standards for audio quality than most -- anything better than dollar store headphones works for me. I was hoping the 1MORE Pistons [(as recommended here)](https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/best-headphones-under-40/) would be the answer, but I've had two of them now and neither lasted more than a month before an earbud went out. Thank god for warranties.

I'm considering picking up a new dac/amp. I'm currently running AKG K712 Pro's through a Fiio E10k. 
I'm torn between the Magni/Modi and the Schiit Hel.
What exactly does a mic input do, can it help in reducing sound leak? As I have pretty awful issues with it at the moment.
I'm also planning on upgrading to HD 800's at some point since I have a decent-paying job now, if I can find them for cheap enough, would both of those dac/amps work well with HD 800s?

I recently found my dads Sennheiser HD430 (600 Ω ; I dont know all the info you guys need Im new to quality headphones). At roughly the same time I discovered that its possible to enhance the listening experience with external Dacs and Amps, the first one of which I heard about was the Fiio BTR5. Since I dont want to spend 120€ if I wont notice the difference, I'm looking for a dac that is fairly cheap but noticeably (even if only slightly) better than whats in my Laptop or phone. My only requirements thus are a minutely noticeable improvement and a cheap pricetag. Thanks in Advance :)

Today i got gifted some new Beats headphones that are more than triple the price of my old Sony headphones. After trying them out i didnt like them. especially when hearing rock songs the bass sounds too loud and overpowers the other instruments like the electric guitar. **Looking For:** A pair to play my guitar through. I'm getting a Line 6 Pod Go to use for guitar effects/amplifiers, and want to be able to hear it nice and clear! I'm in a tiny apartment bedroom so any sort of monitors won't ever sound great, so I plan to go with headphones most of the time. From my research, open back seems to be a must, and there seems to be a mixed opinion on how high of an impedance the headphones need. Right now my leading candidate is the AKG K245's. They seem well reviewed and tick all the boxes. Just want to check if anyone has better recommendations.

Thinking about buying my first pair of "Cans" the **HD 58X** and so far from what I've read this don't really need an Amp so I can just jump straight to a DAC and just run them like that? Or should I at least buy a dac+amp combo (all in one)

Are there any true wireless earbuds without significant issues? I'm not being facetious. Every pair I've tried so far has had some asinine issue. 

The Galaxy buds and Galaxy buds+ both had an obnoxious, yet barely audible buzz when listening to heavy metal, which was disappointing because I liked everything else about them. 

I recently bought a pair of Jabra Elite 75t's, and they occasionally have an irritating popping noise in the left ear, and from my research it seems like there's no true fix, though a firmware update helped a bit. That isn't mentioning the fact they have no usable ANC (the stuff they updated into it can't mute more than a quiet tower fan). 

I looked into the Sony WF-1000XM3, and while they seem great earbuds, I've heard a lot of grievances with the fit, and that could be a big problem given I plan to use them at the gym.

What am I supposed to do? I'm wanting to get something I can depend on before I go on a long road trip next week so I don't have to listen to my family's taste in music, but everything I've bought has had some egregious issue that I can't overlook. I've never had anything close to these much issues with the garbage wired earbuds I used to buy, they just didn't sound as good.

My budget is $100-$250. I will take any recommendations you have.

Hello everyone! I am looking for a new headset for gaming and I am not entirely sure where to start so I would like your recommendations. I am looking in the price range of up to $250 for a USB or Wireless headset. I prefer my headphones to have higher isolation. I plan on using them in public, but not often, the main area I will be using them will be in my house gaming or listening to music. I don't necessarily have a preference for the tonal balance so I am looking for a more overall balanced range. I am currently using the Razer Kraken and I really like the fit of it around my ears, but it often does not pick up as much bass as I would like a headset to. The music I listen to varies lots, One of my favorite songs is Fireflies by Owl City, but I also really like Juke Box Hero by Foreigner and many instrumental soundtracks such as The Dark Knight soundtrack. I just got a new microphone so the headphones don't need a built in mic, I am looking for a more balanced experience that could be used for FPS gaming.

I have a pair of refurbished Beats Executive noise canceling headphones from 2 years ago. The left side stopped working possibly from abuse. I recently tried re soldering the connections which did not fix them. Considering the options and thinking the terminal was the problem, I plucked the driver from the plastic shell and then removed the terminal from it hoping to find a pair of wires that I could directly plug into. There were no wire I could see, they must be beneath the tar-like substance that covers other things in the assembly. I'm trying to expose them but, I think I need to get inside of the driver underneath the diaphragm. Is there a way to remove this while maintaining the integrity of the diaphragm to replace later? 

Alternatively, I'm considering buying a new 40mm driver, but there's always equalizing issues with that. The sound doesn't have to be perfectly the same, but would be nice to sound similar with the right side. 

Perhaps the problem is in the headphone's board itself where the 3.5 mm jack goes in and is split to the left and right side. I don't think this is likely though because the right side works fine and goes through the board and around the head to get to the other driver.
