 I just don't have much confidence that the vitamin A ingredients in that product are going to do anything for your skin over just using a plain moisturizer alone, but it's pretty affordable, so it's like whatever. If you're using it, I get it, it's compelling to want to use a vitamin A compound, but I make this video to point out that the evidence is not quite there for those retinol esters over some of the other vitamin A compounds out there. For me personally, I tell people here in the States, just go with the Dapolin. It's pretty cheap, 14 bucks, most biologically active, and has a lot of evidence for improving wrinkles and fine lines, but if you find a Dapolin too irritating, well, you've got retinaldehyde, good evidence for that, although, honestly, retinaldehyde can be pretty expensive in the cosmeceutical products, so I'll also guide them towards retinols and be like, look, they're not as robust

 You may have to use them for a longer period of time to see results, but they can be effective for sure. Just to summarize, the A313 pomade, the vitamin A ingredients in the A313 pomade would have to be first hydrolyzed to the active ingredient in this product, which then has to be oxidized to the active ingredient in this product, which then has to be oxidized to do what the active ingredient in these products do.  Its 1 step beneath Tretinoin which is prescription only. Make sure your skin already has a tolerance for retinoids before using or you'll most likely suffer from irritations.

 So let me debunk that for you, 200k IU = 60k MCG = 60 MG = .002 ounces of vitamin A. This is NOT anymore potent than any other skin product with Retinoids in them. If you want a potent Retinoid skincare product go for one containing Retinal (not retinol)

 It's the A313 Cream that has been getting a little bit of hype here in the mature beauty community after Beauty by Anne-Marie talked about it on her channel. And this is a French pharmacy, they call it a French pharmacy secret, like one of the best things they can get in a French pharmacy. I got mine off of the Avibon website and I think you can still get it in the 20, less than $30 range or slightly over $30 on the Avibon website. Now, I had first heard about this cream on the Goop website or the Goop Beauty blog, that's Gwyneth Paltrow's blog, and they talk about it on there pretty often

 But I have to say, I really like this product. I do, if it does what it says it does, if it's gonna work like Retin-A does and help fine lines and wrinkles and keep all that at bay, then I will make a switch over to this because I really like the base that it's in. I like how emollient it feels on my skin. It doesn't plug up my pores and I do have like an oily skin type that can tend to break out, but it hasn't made me break out

 So anyway, what I've learned about A313 is that has three types of retinol in it, retinol acetate, retinol palmitate, and retinol propanate. And those are three of the mildest forms of retinol esters that can be converted to retinoic acid and then be utilized in our skin. So the way the conversion process looks is you have the retinol esters, the three of them that are in here, and they get converted to retinol, which then gets converted to retinoldehyde, which then gets converted to retinoic acid, and then it can be used in our skin. On the directions, it says it takes about 15 to 30 minutes for that conversion process to occur

 And I think my skin, like right now, it's been a week since I've used it. I don't have any peeling on my skin. I'm at the end of the day. I've had my makeup on for like 12 hours

This product definitely helped to reduce the texture on my skin and it isn't very harsh, since I have sensitive skin I thought this was a plus. It is kind of pasty when you apply it, similar to the feel of vaseline. It doesn't really have a scent which is great. I use this in the nighttime as the retinol in my skin cycling routine

So it's one of those really active ingredients where if you put it on sensitive skin, skin that's got a compromised barrier or very dry skin and don't gradually introduce it into your routine it does dry out your skin excessively, it causes flaking and it causes severe redness. On the other hand people really persist with retinol because it also gets rid of fine lines in a way that no other skincare ingredient is shown to basically banish them to the curb. So the way to use A313 is to just start it off very gently into your routine like any other retinol product

I've been trying out A313 pommade for about a month and even though it's a retinol ester and, in theory, less effective than regular retinol, it's pretty strong and I've noticed a difference in my pores and sun pigmentation.

There are no over-the-counter trets available, and products with retinol have varying degrees of it, and in some cases, the concentration is not clear at all. So pleeeeeeeeeease, let me know your best recommendations that actually have a decent amount of some kind of retinoid in them. Me and my 35-year-old freckly-liney skin need this!
