Ableton 11

Just buy a scarlet audio interface and Ableton Live 11. Stick with Windows or Linux but anything but Mac. Can't believe anyone would recommend such a thing.

, but they aren't properly supported in Ableton 11 and while being good for setting up entire songs, you need to program each set for a particular song making them not pratical at all for coming up with quick song loops while noodling. I just want to quickly set a recording length for a clip for hands free looping, record, set for another clip, record, delete a clip that didn't work out, set another length, and so on. And have everything right in my PC table (so I can get rid of my old kb). Currently I own only a Microfreak and an old student keyboard without pitch bend/mod wheel/proper velocity sensitivity.

Also Ableton 11 beta is already m1 compatible. I've always liked tweaking my windows machines but bro macs are just ready to work and dont fail as much. Also in windows you have to deal with a lot more latency, try to run latencymon on your machines and you will be horrified. M1 is fucking expensive but its a safe choice for the future.

A quick look shows that Ableton Live 11 is available for Windows. I really don't get why anyone would buy a 2015 MBP rather than spending the same amount of money on a better Windows PC. I mean, I get it, I like MacOS, but a 2015 MBP is far too expensive to be seriously considered, its a dead architecture, they're not cheap and to top it all off its a 6 year old laptop with all the problems of a 6 year old laptop.

I vastly prefer Ableton for a lot of reasons. The only things Protools had that I wished Ableton had they added in Ableton 11. The comping tool in Protools is amazing, but they copied it and made it even better in Ableton 11. Also, with what a good bargain Reaper and FL Studio are I don't see any reason to ever use Protools honestly.
