 Whilst Acer is better known for its impressive line-up of gaming monitors, mainly the Predator and Nitro, they do have an entire catalogue of monitors geared around media creation. Now before I get into it, stay around until the end of the video to find out how you can win a Razer Blade 17 and peripherals bundle. The B287K is part of Acer's new B7 range, characterised by its 4K screen resolution and pre-calibrated colours right out of the box. It has a brushed aluminium logo on the rear, the base of the stand is completely silver with an Acer logo in the bottom right hand corner, which contrasts nicely with the neck of the stand and the panel itself, both of which are finished in a near black colour

 The panel uniformity of this panel was very good. Looking at the chart, it's almost green across the board, apart from one red area in the bottom corner. Results from panel to panel will differ, but overall, this is really great. The B278 is also an IPS panel, so the viewing angles are extremely good

 sRGB had much better colour accuracy, and the average delta dropped into 1.12 within the sRGB spectrum. The graphics preset fell short of the sRGB preset in almost every area apart from contrast ratio, with an average delta of 4, which really isn't great for editing. After calibrating with the colour orbiter, we did get much better results, which you can see in the chart

For starters, this is not a true HDR monitor (opens in new tab) despite the HDR 10 support. It also lacks USB Type-C connectivity, an interface which is an ergonomic blessing, especially for laptop users, but comes at a significant cost. The Acer B287K is also not a bona fide content creation panel with really broad color coverage. Instead, it&rsquo;s designed to deliver entry-level color accuracy plus that generous 4K pixel grid at an accessible price point

Is native 4K resolution from a color-accurate IPS panel now the minimum you should expect from a productivity panel? The Acer B287K implies something very much along those lines.&nbsp;

 The Acer B287K is also not a bona fide content creation panel with really broad color coverage. Instead, it&rsquo;s designed to deliver entry-level color accuracy plus that generous 4K pixel grid at an accessible price point.

As for color accuracy, the Acer B287K comes complete with a factory calibration report demonstrating DeltaE figures below two across the board for the sRGB gamut. Speaking of which, Acer says the B287K is good for 100 percent of the sRGB gamut but does not quote coverage for other spaces such as sRGB and DCI-P3. This is not, then, a full-on content creation monitor. But then that&rsquo;s implicit in the price
