Acer Predator X27

Proper hardware calibration can make your screen come alive, within the limits of the panel of course. I eventually got fed up with the shortcomings of monitor image quality and splurged for just about the best panel you can get right now , the Acer X27. Color calibration out of the box was so accurate that my i1 display colorimeter was not able to improve on it in a meaningful way. The fulla array local dimming panel allows for excellent blacks, and "true" HDR.

IMO these monitors are the best 27inch, 1440p, 240hz monitors you can buy. Second place would be the AW2721D (another really good one if you can get for a reasonable price). Third place would be the Samsung G7 (amazing, but that curve was just too damn much). The Acer Predator XB273U GX seems to be sold out everywhere, so if you are looking for that, the XV272U is pretty much the same thing.

If you're willing to spend a lot of money, the Acer Predator X27 is a 4K IPS monitor. It has local dimming technology that allows it to get almost OLED level contrast and blacks.

Plans got altered until now, and I've begun searching for a new monitor again, but not only can I not find stock of the PG27UQ or the X27, most stores don't even have it listed... I've found vague references on reddit to the fact Asus possibly blocked sales, or discontinued it? Even the Acer X27 monitor can't be found anymore. And since Asus hasn't released the PG27UQX yet, if ever, there really isn't many monitors on the market in the 4K HDR arena.
