This monitor can rotate vertically in either direction, so you can choose which side the inputs and the thicker bottom bezel are on. It has great connectivity, with a good selection of inputs and a built-in USB hub, meaning you can plug your controllers directly into the monitor. It's great for gaming in a bright room, as it has impressive peak brightness in SDR and decent reflection handling.

Unfortunately, it's not the best choice for a dark room due to its low contrast ratio and just okay black uniformity.  You definitely can, but I don't really think that's the goal of this monitor.. For me, this monitor really blurs the lines between a content creation, monitor, believe it or not, because the color accuracy is really good. A mid-rage to higher-end gaming monitor, especially with that 270Hz refresh rate that you can hit at 1440p depending on the games that you play

The 5 Best Vertical Monitors - Spring 2022

 This monitor is not as well optimized as the pg279 qm, which does offer variable overdrive, and you can see that in a lower inverse ghosting rate for the asus option. But performance is generally similar to the alienware aw2721d and better than gigabytes fi 27q-x. Putting this all together, we have the cumulative deviation results which show how close the monitor is getting to the ideal response. Time ace's model here sits just inside the usual range of a modern ips monitor so again, motion performance is generally decent

 As for the contrast ratio, the panel i received was better than average posting a 1076 to 1 ratio good for an ips panel and better than all other 240hz ips monitors i've tested. However, contrast is still bad in general, as va monitors such as the samsung odyssey g7 can easily double that level of performance and deliver much deeper blacks. The xb273ugx is best suited to brighter environments, where you won't really notice this viewing angles are excellent from this panel. No issues to speak of there

 I particularly like the bit where there are two eyes in there. It'S very easy to say: naming aside, this display is destined for high-end gaming setups that want a fast high refresh rate 1440p panel for the latest and greatest games, while still giving plenty of headroom for future hardware upgrades around this sort of price point. I think 1440p. 240Hz plus gaming monitors are a very solid choice, so, hopefully, acer can deliver from a hardware perspective

 So it's quite usable from that sense. Getting games to run at a lock, 270 fps is another matter, though colour performance is next up, and this ips panel acer are using likely. The one from a optronics has an extremely wide color gamut, which makes it well suited to a variety of color work. I recorded 98 dc ip3 coverage as well as 100 adobe rgb coverage, which is excellent coverage of those gamuts

Amazing Gaming Monitor

TLDR: Buy Odyssey G7 curved, if too curvy the Acer xb273u GXbmiipruzx, if too expensive the gigabyte M27Q, MSI mag274qrf-qd or LG 27GP850. Avoid odyssey G5 curved, odyssey G5 and G7 flat.

Anyways, hate to break it to you but the Samsung Odyssey G5 gen1 is pretty bad, it's the second worst 1440p 144hz monitor rtings has tested. I'm not sure if you liked curved monitors or not, but I suggest borrowing the monitor and using it for a few days and seeing if you like the curve. Personally I find it too aggressive to use normally, completely unusable for me but this is highly subjective. In addition to the curve, the G5 also has very slow response times

I want a 1440p 240hz monitor, so i want to get a samsug odyssey g7, since i have a brother that is running the g5, and its been running flawlely so far, but i want opinions on what i should get. I will be running a 1080p 60hz monitor as a second screen.
